Eyelashes

I know there are ways to enhance your eyes.  You have seen the beautiful women on magazine covers with they big wide set eyes.  They have used every means possible to be this beautiful.  We know that many of you have health issues and this can cause your eyes to look dreadful.  After an illness you may notice your lashes are thin and sparse.  It's suggested that you can acquire great long lashes with the  eyelash growth serums   today's markets are offering.  I'm interested in this because of my aging lashes.  It's very hard to apply make up to my lashes because of my failing sight.  Maybe this serum, could enhance my lashes without all that make up.

Santa Claus

I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid.  I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: "There is no Santa Claus," she jeered. "Even dummies know that!"

My Grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a whole lot easier when swallowed with one of her "world-famous" cinnamon buns. I knew they were world-famous, because Grandma said so. It had to be true.

Grandma was home, and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told her everything. She was ready for me. "No Santa Claus?" she snorted...."Ridiculous! Don't believe it. That rumor has been going around for years, and it makes me mad, plain mad!! Now, put on your coat, and let's go."

"Go? Go where, Grandma?" I asked. I hadn't even finished my second world-famous cinnamon bun. "Where" turned out to be Kerby's General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten dollars. That was a bundle in those days. "Take this money," she said "and buy something for someone who needs it.  I'll wait for you in the car."  Then she turned and walked out of Kerby's.

I was only eight years old.  I'd often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping.

For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching that ten-dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it for.

I thought of everybody I knew: my family, my friends, my neighbors, the kids at school, the people who went to my church.

I was just about thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker. He was a kid with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in Mrs. Pollock's grade-two class. Bobby Decker didn't have a coat. I knew that because he never went out to recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but all we kids knew that Bobby Decker didn't have a cough; he didn't have a good coat. I fingered the ten-dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobby Decker a coat!
I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real warm, and he would like that.
"Is this a Christmas present for someone?" the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down. "Yes, ma'am," I replied shyly. "It's for Bobby."

The nice lady smiled at me, as I told her about how Bobby really needed a good winter coat. I didn't get any change, but she put the coat in a bag, smiled again, and wished me a Merry Christmas.

That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat (a little tag fell out of the coat, and Grandma tucked it in her Bible) in Christmas paper and ribbons and wrote, "To Bobby, From Santa Claus" on it.
Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then she drove me over to Bobby Decker's house, explaining as we went that I was now and forever officially, one of Santa's helpers.
Grandma parked down the street from Bobby's house, and she and I crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma gave me a nudge. "All right, Santa Claus," she whispered, "get going."

I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down on his step, pounded his door and flew back to the safety of the bushes and Grandma.

Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobby.

Fifty years haven't dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering, beside my Grandma, in Bobby Decker's bushes. That night, I realized that those awful rumors about Santa Claus were just what Grandma said they were -- ridiculous.  Santa was alive and well, and we were on his team.

I still have the Bible, with the coat tag tucked inside: $19.95.

Virginia Tech

Once again, there are reports about a shooting at this already scarred university.  Reports are coming in as I write, about the gunman and the victims involved.  Police are directing an investigation and the suspect is still at large. The school is on lock down, I have read, from the new alerts.  It is our hope this gunman, will be caught before anyone else looses their life.

Our Country

You do not have the right to never be offended.  This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you.  You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

Moving's Hard

Posted by Arden Wallace
Moving’s been really tough on the kids, much harder than I ever expected. I don’t know what I was thinking taking this job halfway across the country but to be honest, I needed the paycheck and since my husband got laid off we didn’t have much of an option. The kids are 13 and 14 and they of course were right in the middle school  and getting their social lives on track so I know it was a shock for me to pick everyone up and move to another part of the country. I got the house all set up like our old one with adt Pennsylvania and a game room for them and everything but it’s just not the same. It is nice actually because we’re closer to family than we were down in Florida but I know the kids miss the beach and most of all their friends. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made though and I guess the important thing is that we’re all sticking together as a family.

Another Year

Some say it’s just another year, but in reality it’s another year gone by and we just can’t get it back. It’s like a bad comment, that we can’t wish, we hadn’t said. The older I get the harder it is to watch them go by.
The children are in such a hurry, to grow up, that reality for them, is delusional. They can’t see how far it is, to growing up the way, we the older people can see it. Full of energy and life, they strive to get the years behind them, so they can get to another point in life.
I remember the young adult years. It seemed they were so busy, with the predominate things needing to be done. How fast they flew. Here I am saying, “Why it was only yesterday”…… a familiar phrase heard so many times, from my parents and grandparents. ”It was”, only yesterday or so it seemed.
New Year’s brings memories of the old year and hopes of good things in the new one. Our emotions overwhelm us when looking back to what was and what is now. Our hope runs amok, with great expectations, of happiness, love, good fortunes, and financial stability. Yes, it will be a new year, to reach for all new things and hold in your heart the memories of the past.

Batteries

It never fails, that you will get ready to do something with a battery operated item and they run down on you.  It's good to have  rechargeable batteries and charger  for back up when these things happen.  I have a charger and my problem is keeping up with the batteries that are to be used with it.  Many times I will toss them in a hurry, when I am trying to take pictures or do a chore.

What?

Both Romney and Perry spoke against Obama for speeding up a troop draw down
in Afghanistan, They suggested his decision was tied more to the politics of the upcoming
election than conditions on the ground.  "To give a time table to our enemy is
irresponsible," Perry said.  Perry said the United States should pull its foreign aid from
Pakistan,  that every country would begin with "zero" foreign aid if he were elected
president.  Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum suggested that Pakistan has a nuclear
weapon that could fall into the wrong hands.  In other words approach with care.

Sun Glasses

I often see young people loose it when they realize they have lost their ray ban  sunglasses.  I do that when I can't find my debit card, but these young people seem to thrive on being in style with these glasses and it's a great loss to them.  Their egos are full of these fashion items and that's what they crave to be in style with the rest of the young people in their circles.

This Cat

This cat now rules my house with all her antics and preferences.  She won't eat this and likes that.......but mostly she don't like much of the food I've been giving her.  It's very hard to find something she likes well enough to eat on a weekly basis.  I try to give her different entrees each day, but many times the nose is turned up and she comes back at me looking for something else.  This is money going down the drain, and the cat across the street is reaping the benefits.

An Invitation

I always look for an invitation in the mail when I hear of someone becoming a parent.  You know that the proud parents will eventually be shopping for Baptism invitations   when they are ready to name and introduce the new one to the world.  It's very nice to be able to RSVP when you receive these invitations.  I think they add extra pleasure to actual event.

Earthquake?

Was that what I felt last night when I was trying to sleep?  They say it was only felt down to the Ft. Worth, Tx but either way I was awake plenty of the nigh time hours.  It was part of being somewhere I don't usually sleep and the noise around the area, became deafening at times.  So much so that I found myself actually hitting the wall in protest, which aided none.  Then there was the awful sickening thud I heard around 3am, that let me know someone had gone head on into one of the bridge abutments on the freeway close by.  Sirens were somewhat late in my opinion, but I finally heard them coming to the area.

Men's Rings

The trend for men's rings are starting to change.  I don't know if the economy has made any affect on the way the markets are making new mens wedding ring  supplies, but it sure has a new trend going.  You might save a few dollars in your investing for these new rings.  I haven't had the chance to look at the website.  Should you be interested in these new designs, then click on the above link and do some shopping.

Hurricanes

Well, it looks like the season is winding down, because I've noticed that the "Weather Channel" has shown that there are no tropical activity in the Atlantic or Pacific basins to report.  This means that the season for the year is about to come to a close.  We are glad there wasn't any major storms that caused widespread damage.  The tornadoes were enough to give us trauma for awhile.

Business Loans

Bad economy has taken it's toll on small businesses with the harsh expenses they have incurred.  It's been a long haul with the future not looking bright to many.  The government has offered  bad credit business loans
to offset these problems and give these business owner's a chance for possible recoup.  I'm sure there are many who can benefit from these services.   They will need to get more information at the above link.

Steve Jobs

Our sincere condolences go out to the family, friends and coworkers of Steve Jobs.  This is a loss to the electronic world and he will be sorely missed by all who were involved in his life and world in the last decade.

Seeing what the gang and Frank have in store for this season

Guest post written by Walter King
One of the things that I love about the TV show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is that you never really know what to expect of it. Or at least I never really do. They're always doing all kinds of crazy schemes on the show that just come totally out of left field. Basically the only things that are cohesive about the series is the bar and that the gang will be doing crazy things. But those things definitely work and I love keeping up with it. It's by far one of my favorite shows.
For weeks before the new season premiered, I was using my Jacksonville wireless internet to look up information on plot lines and what to expect from episode to episode.
Like everyone else that I've talked to that watches the show, I was so surprised by the actor who plays Mac gaining 50 pounds for the role. That's some real dedication. I don't think that most actors just do that for anything. Most of the times it's for things like when Robert DeNiro was in Raging Bull, these huge budget movies.

He Said.......

"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their
fathers conquered."

Testing

I can remember working for a local electronic's firm, which was very famous during those years.  Today, this company isn't as famous as it was back then.  They gave me one of the  Tester Jobs   in the Semi Conductor building and I had to test the small components that they were building.  I ran them through a series of tests during a certain amount of hours at different temperatures and stress factors.

Katia A Hurricane?

Katia has cycled on and off between tropical storm and hurricane status, the storm strengthened recently and now has maximum sustained winds of about 75 mph, the lowest-level Category 1 storm.  Katia poses no threat to land over the next 48 hours, but those on the East Coast and in Bermuda need to keep an eye on it.
Texas still hasn't gotten any relief from drought, even with the Tropical Storm Lee, which came on shore in Louisiana and is moving up the east coast.  We did receive relief from the triple digit temps with a cool front that came through today.

Amusing Video......

Path

Everyone is watching the path of the hurricane that's heading up the east coast.  There several prediction as to where landfall will be, and what the category of the storm will be.  I'm sure there will be many affected by this storm and will keep a watchful eye on the areas where my family members are located.

Cash

Everyone needs extra money from time to time and it seems that families with children are feeling the need at present.  The kids need new shoes and clothes plus those school supplies the teachers order.  I'm sure you can go online and fill out the application for your  cash advances  to get the extra things your family need.  It's fast and easy with hardly any hassles during the process.

Irene

Irene may become the first hurricane of the busy, but so far not destructive, 2011 Atlantic hurricane season.  Irene, the ninth named storm of the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season, was expected to pass Puerto Rico's southern coast late Sunday and early Monday and then strengthen into a hurricane as it approached the Dominican Republic.  Residents of Cuba, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Bahamas and the southeastern United States were urged to monitor Irene's progress as the storm headed their way.  An early northward turn would bring it near the Georgia-South Carolina coast late in the week. But a later turn could keep it over the warm Caribbean waters until it reached the Gulf of Mexico, which could make it a much more powerful hurricane.
It is our hope that this storm does not become stronger, but that it in fact allows these areas suffering from drought conditions, to get much needed rain.

Online Shopping

Ever wonder where those friends get their speakers?  You know how to shop as well as they do.  You want to get the discounts and price's you see listed.  Refine the sound in your car or truck with  car speakers  you can get online.  You will be able to see the different designs along with the amenities they carry.  It's up to you and your budget exactly how you great your speakers perform.  Do some shopping around before you completely decide on your purchase.

Castro

Fidel Castro marked his 85th birthday behind closed doors Saturday.  The aging leader increasingly fades from the spotlight, even if his outsize persona continues to cast a long shadow over Cuban society and U.S. relations.  Since his illness, he has remained in the shadows, while his brother Raul, mans the helm as Cuba's President.  The world watches as time takes it's toll on the Cuban leader's health.  As for now he remains involved with his brother's politics in controlling the country.

Rain

How wonderful it was to wake up this morning to a nice slow rain.  The DFW area in Texas, has been suffering from triple digit heat, for several days, without any relief.  Today, gave us that needed relief and we are very thankful for the amount we received.  It will help for a short time, and we are predicted to have more high temperatures next week.

ATV

The ATV is a great vehicle to enjoy or use as a helper on a large farm or work area.  Several people love to ride them up hills in rugged areas where the land is uneven and jagged.  These units are subject to break down like any other vehicle.  I noticed that you can go online for  polaris sportsman parts  and find exactly the part you need for the repairs.  There are manuals to help you with the installation and you can get quality parts for great discounts.

A Job

It's always nice to get a call from an old boss, wanting you to return to work for him.  It's even nicer when it's the same office you worked at before and he wants you back in there.  The local area is familiar and you don't have to drive around looking for certain establishments.  You already know the area, where everything is located and what to expect.  There are some place's no longer in business but the one's that are in demand by you are still sitting pretty for you visit.  I'm once again an employed person and this feels great.

Glad I saw Phantom of the Opera

Guest post written by Mary Carlson
Now I've been to NYC a few times before, mainly back when my husband would go there on business. But that was decades ago and I think that it's changed a whole lot since then. I used to actually go to at least Broadway show when we were there each time. Obviously though, none of those are running anymore. I have heard amazing things about Phantom of the Opera though and knew that I had to go and see it on this trip.
This was a family trip, so I tried to look up some things that all of us would want to go and see together. While I was researching that I saw the site http://hearingaids.miracle-ear.com/hearing-locations/wisconsin/k/kenosha/. I read through it and after that I decided to get some hearing aids, so I got fitted with them before our trip.
I'm so glad that I was wearing them when we saw the Phantom of the Opera. The music was so amazing and dramatic. I can't wait to go back again and see it again!

Airliner Crash No Deaths

The broken fuselage of a Caribbean Airlines' Boeing 737-800 is seen after it crashed at the end of the runway at Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Timehri, Guyana, Saturday, July 30, 2011. The Caribbean Airlines flight 523 from New York touched down on the rainy runway, slid through a chain-link fence and broke apart just short of a ravine but there were no immediate reports of death among the 163 people aboard, despite several dozen of injuries. (AP Photo/Jules Gibson)

A Caribbean Airlines airliner coming from New York crashed with 140 passengers aboard while landing in Guyana early Saturday and broke in two, causing several injuries but no deaths.  It made a skid landing on a rain slick runway and broke in half, coming to a stop .

Old Sewing Machine Desk

This is an old Singer sewing machine desk which belonged to my great grandmother.  Mom, took the old Singer out of it and put her her sewing machine head inside.  Too bad because that old treadle machine still worked and would have been a collector's item worth the money.

My Kitty

This is my new kitty which was given to me recently.  She's 6 years old and very active.  Today I heard her behind me meowing.  When I looked down, she had a bird in her mouth for me to see.  I tried to make her take it back outside, but she ran to the kitchen and dropped.  The bird was thrown off, but as I came in to shoo her out the door the bird took off flying.  She charged after it, but it got away.  I hope she doesn't decide to do that if, she catches a mouse.

American Airlines Jet Lands Safely

The jet bound for Brazil made a U-turn and an emergency landing Sunday after one of its engines caught fire minutes after takeoff from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.  The Boeing 777’s landing gear also caught fire, though the plane managed to land safely on a runway about 8 p.m. after dumping its fuel in midair.
I'm wondering just where they think this fuel lands when it's being dumped in mid-air?  This is a bad problem to the structures as well as the vehicles traveling along the interstates and local roads.  Have they even considered what could happen if this fuel was ignited in some way while falling from the sky?  I'm not sure about the possibilities of this happening, because I don't know what it takes to ignite this fuel, but it still gives me an uneasy feeling.  What's your opinion about dropping fuel in mid-air?  Is it safe?

Amy Winehouse Found Dead

Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square shortly before 4:05 pm  today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased. On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.  Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.

Amy Winehouse Joins Unfortunate "27 Club"
In 2006, Winehouse skyrocketed with the hit "Rehab".  Prior to her recent tour, she entered rehab at the urging of her manager father.  But Winehouse pulled out of her European comeback tour following a disastrous opening performance in Serbia on June 18.
Condolences to her family, friends and co-workers.  It's always sad to see this type of thing happen.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center

The nation is bidding so long to a part of our history.  The Army's flagship hospital where privates to presidents have gone for care, is closing its doors after more than a century.  Rehabilitation for the wounded, including care for amputees, has been an important part of the mission since it opened.
The hospital was named to honor Maj. Walter Reed, an Army physician who treated troops and American Indians on the frontier. Among his medical achievements was life-saving research that proved that yellow fever was spread by mosquito. He died in 1902 at age 51 of complications related to appendicitis.  The original redbrick hospital had about 80 beds, but inpatient capacity grew by the thousands during the wars of the last century. Today, it treats about 775,000 outpatients annually, and has an inpatient load of about 150. It wasn't just service members and military retirees treated at the hospital over the decades, but their families, too. Countless babies were born at the hospital into the 1990s.
Former and current patients and staff members will say goodbye at a ceremony Wednesday on the parade grounds in front of the main concrete and glass hospital complex. Most of the moving will occur in August. On Sept. 15, the Army hands over the campus to the new tenants: the State Department and the District of Columbia. The buildings on campus deemed national historic landmarks will be preserved; others probably will be torn down.
This is just another of our country's changing times and I'm sure it won't be long before we find other great historic buildings falling to this type of thing.

Cherokee Election Invalid

In an order issued Thursday, the court declared it was impossible to determine the winner of the election with mathematical certainty.  Uncertainty about the accuracy of the results and repeated flip-flopping in terms of the declared winner has eroded confidence among Cherokee voters.  Tribal councilman Bill John Baker has twice been declared winner of the controversial election, but so has his opponent, incumbent Principal Chief Chad Smith.  The official results of the most recent recount put Smith ahead by four votes Tuesday, but that's one fewer than in the unofficial results announced Sunday.
The Cherokee Nation's Supreme Court has ruled that a June 25 election to determine the chief of Oklahoma's largest Indian tribe is invalid.  They must not have had those wonderful tabulating machines, that the big elections use.

Vegas Casino Issues Warning........

The Aria Resort & Casino has written to people who stayed there between June 21 and July 4 when tests showed elevated levels of Legionella bacteria in some of its guest rooms.  Aria has made adjustments to its water management plans to address this issue on an ongoing basis. The Southern Nevada Health District continues to work closely with the resort on its ongoing monitoring efforts.  Recent test results indicate that no detectable level of active Legionella bacteria was present in any of the locations tested.
Symptoms::  Include  fever, chills, cough, fatigue and muscle aches.
People with these symptoms are urged to see their doctor's for needed attention.

A Safe House......

Casey Anthony will be in a house protected by bodyguards for maybe weeks in case one of those who have threatened tries to make good on a death threat. Her Legal team received an emailed death threat with a doctored photo of the 25-year-old woman with a bullet hole through her forehead. The threat was forwarded to authorities. Ideally, security experts said, she should go to a safe house. She may have to arrange backup locations, in case the address is discovered.  The best thing she can do for her safety is keep a low profile, while attorneys will make appropriate decisions or prepare for her own security after that.
I'm sure that the one's who are very unhappy with the outcome of this court ruling, will find a way to keep up with her.

TXU

Hey, TXU  !  I am posting a picture of a utility pole that's located here on my street.  If you look at the power box you will see how rusty it is.  How long have these power boxes been in place without needed repair?  It would be nice to see a shiny grey one up there instead of this rusty one.  Oh, I took a picture of the one on the next pole as well.  It is rusty and in the same condition.

Camping Equipment

Whether you are a birdwatcher or a traditional wildlife hunter, it is necessary to have the proper equipment for you excursions.  You always need a pair of good binoculars to help you see the wildlife from a distance.  Locating the subjects involved can be important when using your binoculars.  I know that investing in  ncstar binoculars   is a good idea and you get value for your money.  An online store can help you shop, compare and get the best prices on the market.  Going hunting without your binoculars is like going fishing without your rod.

Fracking

This method to extract oil and gas from the shale in the ground has law maker's trying to decide whether or not to ban it.  I live in the DFW area and in recent months noticed a decline in earth quakes down in the region where the oil companies have been "fracking".  The US government as well as state governments, are having environmental inspections to determine the dangers and effects on the surrounding areas of land.  Some governments have already placed a ban of such activities.  New York has given an okay to the process and that's causing plenty of worry.

Loose It....

There are too many fat as well as obese people in the US and that's been documented by the health officials.  Even a large amount of children are considered obese or overweight.  It's necessary to get their health adjusted to keep them from having problems later in life.  The use of apidexin can be monitored by your doctor to maintain a standard of weight loss for your health.  You can go online and shop for this product as well as read reviews others have made, after taking it.

Cottage Cheese

It  looks like Facebook has scored again.  The Isreali cottage cheese producers in Isreal have lowered their prices by 25 %.  There was such a out pour of strength on the network backing the Israli people against the producers of the product.  Simply clicking like and refraining from buying cottage cheese caused a big stir, and the Dairy Producers declared "no more."  This is a great break for the people who live and work there, while trying to raise their families.  Hopes are that this will cause even more changes in the future.

Doctor's Office

All the many times in your life that you have been to a medical facility, you noticed this one thing most of all.   The  exam table  was not built for comfort and you managed to accept it because of the services your were getting.  The modern doctor offices are pristine and equipped with the newest furnishings available.  They want their clients to be as comfortable as possible and do their best to make the visit nice.  It's best to find good value for the equipment and shopping online adds convenience to a doctor's busy schedule.

Arlene

Tropical storm Arlene, hit Mexico's central Gulf coast Thursday with heavy rains over a large area of the coast.  It had winds of 65 mph and was moving inland at 8 mph, near Cabo Rojo, a cape just off the mainland between the cities of Tampico and Tuxpan.  There weren't many problems and  Arlene is expected to be out of sight by midday.  Extreme south Texas also could get rain and Arlene is projected to weaken later Thursday and dissipate on Friday.  We are thankful there weren't any problems with this tropical storm.

Sinks

I know there comes a time when you decide that the home needs a new look.  The old furnishings are drab and getting some wear and tear to their credits.  Remodeling the kitchen and bathroom can be very rewarding.  You might consider shopping for a  double bowl undermount sink   to compliment your kitchen decor.  Choosing the right one will be hard since there are so many designs and amenities available.  You may need some help finding the right items for a price your budget can allow.  Just click on the above link and see if  you can find the value  you are searching for.

Lilies

Blooming are the "bread & butter" lilies, which grow beside the house in a flower bed.  There are several of these plants and they have taken over this one area.  I need to remove some of them and will do so when the fall arrives.  There are many small trees in the flower beds as well.  These will need to be dug out by the roots instead of being cut off as before.  Now, the roots will be much larger and deeper in the ground, making it y harder to dig them out.  I truly have my work cut out for me to do in the next few months.  This will be an ongoing project that will never let up.

Fire Pits

I was invited over to visit with the neighbors across the street from my home.  They told me to come around to the backyard, where they would be.  They had their  outdoor fire pit  going and was sitting out enjoying the evening, the fire and a brew.  I was hesitant at first due to the fact that I was new in town and didn't know them well.  I finally made my way over and joined their evening relaxing in the backyard.  The fire pit was very nice and the smoke from it helped drive the mosquito's away.  In the months to come, I hope to get a fire pit for my backyard and be able to enjoy a good fire on cool evenings.

Wisteria

I recently moved into my old family home and was delighted to find that the old wisteria bush had survived att these many years and seasons.  This bloom was from some of the new growth and I found one or two others blooming as well.  Since then I have trimmed the bush back so that the flower beds can get needed air and sun for the soil underneath.  I have some much more work to do in the flower beds because they are overgrown with all types of small trees and plants.

Office Scanner

I have a personal opinion about  scanning software   because I once worked as a document scanner for an insurance company.  The company utilized the scanner for patient accounts and kept the files updated with all the recent activity to the accounts.  This type of software is very important to many companies as well as hospitals and other healthcare establishments.  The ability to scan documents can save the company extra liabilities later, and keep the cost of labor down.  You can find more information by clicking of the above link.

City Workers

The street workers, came and took up some of the pavement to repair the area they had been working on.  They will come back and pave it with asphalt in a day or so.  My driveway is rock and since they had rock mixed with sand that wasn't needed, they asked if I wanted it put in my driveway.  I heartily agreed and told them if they found themselves to have more in the coming days, that they were welcomed to put it in the drive as well.  You get all the free help you can get from your local city departments.

Theft

The act of stealing a person's personal information has become and epidemic in the last few years.  They are getting to the point of walking up next to you and using a device that reads your credit card numbers.  You may find that you have been violated, only after you check your bank account or you credit card amounts.  There is a company that has developed a rfid blocking wallet  which you can put your credit and debit cards in for protection.  This way you can keep these vandals from stealing your card numbers and taking your hard earned money.

First

Our first tropical storm Arlene, has developed in the Gulf.  It is predicted to remain near the coastline, in the Mexico areas.  The lower parts of Texas could be affected, with heavy rains.  We have no idea what will conspire in the next few months of the hurricane season.  The weather center in Florida predicts a busy season, for many hurricanes.  We will keep our fingers crossed that none of them become dangerous.

Trees

Not your ordinary day, would you say?  I opened the window blinds this morning to this sight.  It was very scary, when I considered what could have happened but didn't.  Just yesterday, I would have left my car parked right in the sport where it lies.  Not 3 to 4 feet away were the power lines, that connect to the house.  I'm very thankful, that nothing major happened.

Scanners

Everyone is very acquainted with a barcode scanner  and what it does at the checkout lines.  Until a few years ago, these devices weren't used for these services.  Today, they are everywhere and have become a lucrative business in their own right.  Without them today, the lines would be even long at the stores and the price look ups would be outstanding.  If your interested in the value and design a these products, click the above link for more information.

Ya Think?

Well, there it went. Right down the drain, just like so many others. I have a lousy track record for friendships. I just can’t seem to get it right. You think things are going good and poof, they blow up in your face. I’ve always considered a good friendship not to have boundaries. But I sure was wrong on that idea.
The idea that a friend was there no matter what, or that a friend would understand or care about what was going on with you, just became my ideas. Not anyone else’s. I guess I’m just too old fashion. I believe with all my heart, love the same and try to be a friend as well.
I finally allowed myself to try again to have this type of relationship with someone, and once again was shot down. I forgot that their life has it’s own querks and that I must remember that there are boundaries, to a friendship. I guess I think that everyone has the same ideas, and values that I do.
Heck, I also forgot that this is a diversified world of people, who have been raised in different environments, than me. Who did I think I was to be so selfish as to think everyone could think and feel like me? I’m so out of touch with reality, that I actually tried!
I’m sure it will be a long time again, before I’ll do that same thing. I don’t like being treated with disdain and talked to in such a horrible manner. So, to protect myself from such candor, I will go back into my safe shell and stay there. It’s much safer inside and I can like myself anyway I want to. Darn that sounds childish. I guess there’s just been too much rejection in my world, for me to be able to cope very often. I can’t accept making the effort and having it thrown back at me, like a bad piece of meat. So, I’ll just stay the heck out of everyone’s way and make my own way.
Just another day in paradise.

Jobs

If your a great salesman or saleswoman, then this website is right up your alley.  They list sales jobs  in many diversified fields.  It's necessary to go online fill out an application and list your expertise for prospective employers to find you and contact you.  If you are interested in relocating this there are several jobs you can look at and find the one right for you.  More information can be found at the above link.

More Government

It seems the city I'm moving to has intercepted my transfer of electricity and blocked the action per a city inspection of the home.  Now, I'm without electricity until this coming Monday and most everything is thawing out.  The food in the freezer and fridge are at risk of ruining.
My poor tropical fish have been without needed air for a day and a half, which gives presence to the fact they may die.  Now, I must try and salvage as much as I can until next week.  What  a city government mess!

Review

I read about this product and was concerned at the extreme caution the maker's are issuing to users of  hemo rage black  and it's qualities.  They tell the customer to only use the product once  a day and to make sure that they use no more that one scoop of the powder.  This product is use for pre-workouts and can be very harsh for some people's body systems.  I offer the advice here so that if one decides to invest in this product, they can be aware of it's powerful effects.

Sales Tax

The state governments are trying to find a way to start getting extra revenue from online sales.  They are putting bills in congress to get passed and then enacted.  The states are in a slump and have laid off many employes and cut spending.  This will be considered a way to give money back to the state budgets and help ease the financial strain on the schools and other government offices.

Sports

Any hobby, sports or exercise resumes you may take up are always needing certain items for your comfort.  The use of yoga mats are naturally something to support your body and keep it from being directly on a floor's surface.  I know that yoga has become an exercise that helps limber up the muscles and give you a deep personal satisfaction.  Some of the positions I have seen these people pose would get me all wrapped up and unable to unwind.

Pack Rat

I can't believe the efforts it takes to move from one place to another.  It never ceases to amaze me how you can accumulate so much stuff in such a short time.  Just when you think you've gotten rid of a bunch of things, you look around and find so much more.  When it comes time to move, you actually consider giving some stuff away, or selling it.  I've got too much to move so, I will see if someone might want the things that I really don't want.

Buildings

The need for steel buildings  has become  a priority in today's business world.  You can utilize them as warehouses, sports arenas and other necessary accommodations.  It's something that can be kept clean and the upkeep is economical.  I'm sure this online store can fit your building needs and give the a decent price.  You can shop for the type you are looking for and get a quote on it all in one application.

Mave'd Out

Ok, I'm tired of the mania and hype.  Yes, they did it, but why drag a good thing into the ground?  I can understand the fans getting all excited.  I really enjoyed the last few minutes of the game and was glad to see them win.  It's nice for the coach and team to get recognition.  Now, it's time to rest and relax for awhile.  What about the Texas Rangers?

Uniforms

I know that you have seen different departments wearing certain colors or designs when you visit a hospital.  These uniforms are very expensive and it's always nice to find discount scrubs  to have extra.  I notice that doctor's offices are color coordinated with their uniforms.  You can find many different designs and sizes online and get them delivered to your job or home.  Maybe you are considering updating you scrubs and getting a good discount is very helpful.

Should I?

Have you ever made a decision that left you feeling a bit unsure about the out come?  You have that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach that tells you, there may be some repercussions.  You may not like the out come of what is to be and yet you plow ahead with the plans to do it.  Some times life takes a turn that your not expecting and before you know it your caught up in an exhausting mess.  I've made some plans to change my life recently and am still feeling the unsure qualms that are inside my being.  I hope that this decision will be for the good, and not turn out to be a disaster.

"The Playbook"

Thanks for the post, Jennifer Mcconnell
Even though I thought the break up of Robin and Barney on "How I Met Your Mother" was a cop out by the writers so they could rely on tried and true formulas instead of developing the show and characters in a new direction to reflect their maturity, I still really enjoyed "The Playbook" episode. It's one of those episodes I've seen countless times on http://www.cannonsatellite.com TV and never get tired of. In part due to hot chick Sarah Wright playing Claire. The episode revolves around a book that Barney wrote -- though he alleges it was written by his forefathers around the time of the American Revolution -- that consists of all the elaborate schemes that Barney has thought up in order to score chicks. Lily, disgusted by the very idea and upset that Barney uses one of his plays, called the "Lorenzo Van Matterhorn," to bamboozle the friend she had planned to set Ted up with, steals the playbook in order to expose all it's secrets.
Barney returns in scuba gear and proclaims he will use one final play that he calls, "The Scuba Diver." When the gang can't find the play in the playbook, they share Barney's playbook with Claire in hopes that she can find out what it is. When the elaborate details of "The Scuba Diver" are revealed to the gang after Barney and Claire have left for coffee, you can't help but see a similarity in how the show itself is written and connected through little details.

Green Beans

In this picture is my green beans that I have planted in a pot, on my patio.  At the present I live in an apartment and the only way I can grow anything is in planters or pot.  I've had to carry the soil that I bought at the store up 2 flights of stairs to get the stuff going.  I hope to get a few beans from these healthy looking plants.

New Things

When you move from one place to another, you find that you want something new to compliment your new surroundings and give your ego a boost.  I always get new bedding to make my bedroom festive and comfy.  I have considered shopping online at the  peacock alley bedding  website, to get some ideas and see what they have on "sale".  I will probably find more items than I can afford at one time.  I'm sure being a woman won't help much either.

The Tree

On the right of this picture is a large elm tree that has been there for years.  This tree once sprawled out with beautiful full branches which were climbed by me.  The electric company has since made a mess of this tree and cut it back so bad that there is only one side of it left.  I believe this tree is probably over 150 years old, since it was already huge when I was a small child.

Going Home

Excitement is mounting on a daily level, as I anticipate the coming move to my childhood home.  I've only recently found that it would becoming available and this started a gush of events.  I will soon be sitting in this yard and mowing the lawn along with all the other things a property commits me to.  The house looks quite a bit different today, from when I lived there as a child, but it's still got the insides that I remember and the big tree out in the front yard, I once climbed.

Humid

If you've ever been to Austin, TX or live in an around the area, then you know how humid it can get during a heavy rain or storm.  It seems the pollen and spores start flying a right after one of the hard rains.  I wonder if it stirs up this stuff when the high winds hit?  There's a center for allergy treatment austin  people can go to for help.  There's several treatments that can give relief from the nasty stuff that's flying around in the air they breathe.  Having relief is something relished, by people who suffer from allergies.

Disasters

It's been one after another lately and the season for all of these types of weather is upon us.  The US has been fairly fortunate but have had our share of disasters.  We try to maintain and wonder how it is that we can work so hard to build a life, only to loose it in seconds?  Flooding of the Mississippi River, caused horrible damage as well as the tornadoes that hit the southern states.  Joplin now has a huge mess to clean up and the survivors are reeling from the trauma.  The storm center has predicted an active hurricane season this year, so we aren't out of the woods, yet.

Scanners

In most of the stores today, you see these scanners.  It helps with employee error and keeps things moving with correct codes and prices of the items.  You can buy a laser barcode scanner  for you store, if you have need to keep up with a lot of items.  This is a convenience that wasn't around back in the early 60's and now most stores can't do without them.  The population was much smaller back then as well, so items weren't as hard to handle.  Automation has taken hold of the world and it's now necessary to move along with it.

Trees

Large trees are scattered about the yard in a beautiful attempt to give shade from the summer sun.  I will be living here very soon and will need to have some of the trees trimmed back for safety during the storms.  We have had some severe storms lately, as happens every year here in the south.  I noticed that a limb fell from a large tree in the front yard during the last storm.  That tree has been growing in the front yard ever since I was a small girl.  I'm now in my 60's and the tree was already very large back then.

Plus Size

There's something for us girls who can't fit into a size 6 or 10 anymore.  It's the plus size revolution and it's for us larger ladies.  The stores are giving more designs a fashion trends in clothing as well as plus size sexy lingerie  for those private moments. The plus for most of the women who are large is that there really are some men who like large women.  So, why not indulge in something pretty and cute for a special night?  He'll appreciate it and I'm sure there will be some benefits for you as well.

Another Day

It's been another day of bad weather, and looks to keep going for a few days.  Yesterday, was full of storms and they predict today that they will be here again, after around 4pm.  I'm worried the tornades will make their way to our area, since they have been hitting many of the other states.

Muscle

Body builders, use several different ways to get the desired shape they want to be in.  I see them pumping away at the health centers and spas.  Some of them use creatine powder  to help with the development of their muscles and torso.  I know we women love to see a man who's body is buff and the men love to see the effects of their efforts.  Make sure to get as much information as possible before starting this type of routine.  Click on the above link and read about this product.

Lettuce

I planted this lettuce a few months ago, but alas it suffered the defeat of growing an a planter.  I tried to salvage it, but the efforts were not successful.  I have since planted different seeds in the area in hopes of them surviving the soil and limited space.

Wrinkles

They have released a new product which is supposed to help with wrinkles.  I don't know about you, but I'm in need of such products.  My age is moving on up on my body and my face needs some help as well.  The  skincell vial #29A  is considered to be the latest product able to reduce wrinkles with the natural effects it produces.  I read that it has not been reported with any side effects, which is a good thing for people with health problems.  For more information about this beauty product, click on the above link and read about it.

Bad Weather

We've had our share of bad weather here in the DFW area and it's been rather scary.  I hope that we make it through the weather alert, since there is damaging wind and hail predicted.  This is a natural thing for the spring time in our area of the state.  We always hunker down and hope for the best.

Mississippi Flooding

In this Friday, May 13, 2011 picture, Mississippi ...
Just another eerie scene that leaves us wondering what will be next, as we watch in horror at the devastation the people in the south are experiencing.  Mississippi flood waters creep up the flood walls that commemorate the historic flood of 1927 in downtown Vicksburg, Miss. Army engineers prepared Saturday, May 14, 2011 to slowly open the gates of an emergency spillway along the rising Mississippi River, diverting flood waters from Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Medicare Needs

If you find yourself over the age of 50, then you know what's coming in the near future.  There are many "baby boomers" who are well aware of the situation I'm telling you about.  I am one of them, and recently I was sent all this paperwork in the mail about a Medicare plan  for my health.  Being healthy, I felt this to be an insult, but realized how quickly life can change.  I know that there are many who are utilizing these benefits on a daily basis.  To get information about a good plan, you can click on the above link.

Race Day

The Grand Stand area is seen before the running ...
The Grand Stand area is seen before the running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, May 7, 2011.  I'm sure my daughter is watching, because she's a horse trainer and loves the world of horse racing.
Steve Buttleman, the official bugler at Churchill ...
The official bugler at Churchill Downs since 1995, blows the call to post for a first race ahead of the 137th running of the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Kentucky.  Good luck to all!

GPS

Most of the new cars are coming equipped with the tracking systems.  I have an older car that paid for, and I'm not really ready to install a tracking system in it.  There are many young people who swear by their  magellan gps   since they have a hard time understanding maps.  If it's on the map then the tracking system can find it for them and point them in the right direction.  For information and prices click on the above link and shop.

Never Forget !

DISD

The Dallas School District has laid off over 200 employees.  These cuts come with the problems that the district was already experiencing.  As of last Friday these positions were cut in order to trim the financial budget already in trouble.  Some people blame this problem on the Governor of our fine State as well as the other departments in our State government.  Many of the jobs that were cut are central and some were just vacancies that were eliminated.  Either way the children of the Dallas Schools stand to loose the standard of education they deserve.

Away They Go.....

The royal wedding: Live Report
Prince William and his new wife, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, drive off from Buckingham Palace in an Aston Martin owned by his father.  They will go to his apartment for some needed rest and then come back for the party later.

Postcards

Online sources have become the rage and it's easier than ever to make things personal with one click of the mouse.  A good printer can add to the effects when you are printing postcards  or certain events.  I've found that you can utilize a good template and make outstanding prints for your upcoming calendar event.  For information about the different products this website offers, click on the above link and shop.

Congratulations

Royal wedding
The world watched as these two beautiful people took their vows and became a new generation of monarchy in Britain.  Prince William married the beautiful Catherine Middleton, in the ceremony of the century.  She woke up this morning, went to Westminster Abbey and became a Duchess.  All a very beautiful fairy tale story, which unfolded without a hitch.  May they have a long wonderful life.
