A Laptop

My computer repairman, who I depend on for help, says that I need a backup computer for when problems occur with this one.  He suggests that I get a laptop  which is easier to store and can be accessed quickly, should this computer crashes.  I think that he is what I have him for, to fix my computer when it does crash.  But he considers that I wouldn't have down time, while waiting for him to repair this one.  I suppose he's right, and so I have been looking at the different price's online.

Hurricane Earl

A house is flooded as a nearby river was overflow ...
Earl battered some islands across the northeastern Caribbean with heavy rain and roof-ripping winds Monday, rapidly intensifying into a major Category 3 storm on a path projected to menace the eastern United States coast.
Hurricane Fiona is right behind Earl but not expected to come ashore, rather it will stay out at sea.  Many cruise lines have diverted their routes and fishermen are staying on shore.  This time the Gulf has been spared, but the hurricane season isn't over yet.

School has started here in Texas and with that we realize the summer is coming to a close.  It's time to get ready for the coming months, when we observe our different holidays.  There is one vacation day left that we can utilize to get in one more summer outing.  Labor Day, will give us the last summer get away, to enjoy what's left of the summer fun.
Here in Texas, everyone knows that many times you can still get a good tan in October and November, depending upon the weather.  I've seen it be 80*'s in December, so that tells you how crazy the Texas weather can be.

Medicare To Help

Older smokers often don't get as much attention from doctors as do younger ones.  About one in 10 seniors smoke, compared with one in five people among the US population as a whole.  They are more likely than younger smokers to be seriously hooked on nicotine and less likely to attempt quitting. But research shows that their odds of success are greater if they do try to give up the habit.
Medicare is finally catching up to most private insurers by providing counseling for anyone on the program who's trying to kick the habit.  Medicare's new smoking cessation benefit will also be available to younger people who are covered by the program because of a disability.

Job in Sales

I never have wanted to be a salesman/woman, but there are many who can make real bucks doing this type of work.  It's become necessary to hunt for your niche when it come to selling certain products.  Finding good  sales jobs  is a saturated environment lately.  People lost their jobs when the recession hit and now it's so hard to find good work.  I have opted to work at home and there are good jobs you can do in sales from home as well.  For more information on jobs in sales, click on the above link and look around the website.

I was reading about this horrible flooding, these people are trying to endure.  It seems that the reports conclude that the only way to get help to these people is to drop supplies, by air........the reports also say that about 800,000 people are getting needed help while others still suffer.  Disease has broken out and the people aren't able to get needed help, with the flood waters still so very high.

Shopping For Clothes

I've gotten to the point that I can hardly fit into many of my clothes.  I have become sedentary and lazy to the point that I've picked up a few pounds.  When I go to shop for my clothes, I need to look for good quality as well as good price's.  Shopping in the misses clothing area's of certain stores gives me an advantage.  These days shopping online, can really be convenient, since I haven't got as much time to go to a local store.  I've been looking at this website, and found many nice clothes at great prices.

Gold Coins

In all ages, man has been fascinated with the beauty and magic of gold, and with its power to change men’s lives. Today, the beauty of a gold bar lies in its proven ability to diversify investments, protect wealth and preserve one’s purchasing power.   As an investment product, you can buy gold coins that have a currency value.
Buying gold has been recognized for centuries as one of the best ways to preserve one’s wealth and purchasing power. Gold bullion is a unique investment. From the time of ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans to more modern times, man has had an affinity for gold bullion.  Ingots are generally pure bullion cast in a convenient size and shape.
Above ground stockpiles of silver and gold bullion are low, shrinking rapidly and approaching zero.  Since the end of WWII, for example, the U.S. government – once the largest stockpiler of gold and silver on the planet – has dumped billions and billions of ounces of gold and silver bars onto the world market, effectively depressing prices.  Today, is one of the best times to purchase your precious metals.

Bush In Haiti

President Bush arrived in Haiti this morning. During a visit with mango farmers, he said, “Our goal is to help this society go from one that is dependent on aid to one that can grow its way to prosperity.” A grant from the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund will benefit an initial group of up to 5,000 mango farmers and their families. We hope this model will help transform the entire mango sector, increase exports and incomes, and ultimately benefit 25,000 mango farming families in Haiti. It is our hope that they can survive another hurricane season.

Mitch Miller Dies.....

FILE - In this file photo of Jan. 5, 1968, conductor ...
Mitch Miller, the goateed orchestra leader who asked Americans to 'Sing Along With Mitch' on television and records, has died at age 99. His daughter said Miller died in New York City after a short illness. Miller was a key record executive at Columbia Records in the pre-rock 'n' roll era, making hits with singers Bennett, Page, Rosemary Clooney and Johnny Mathis. "Sing Along With Mitch" started as a series of records, then became a popular NBC show starting in early 1961. Miller's stiff-armed conducting style and signature goatee became famous. The TV show ranked in the top 20 for the 1961-62 season, and soon children everywhere were parodying Miller's stiff-armed conducting.
