New Lighting

Moving to a new apartment showed me what all I had accumulated through the years.  When I finally settled into the apartment.  I started assessing some of the things I kept and some of the things I needed to invest in.  I brought a few lights with me, but noticed that I needed lamps in the living room.  A nice lighting fixture
in the bathroom would give it a more modern look.  I will have to do some shopping in order to find the exact style and design I'm interested in.

Jets Beat Colts

The Colts (14-1) lost for the first time since Oct. 27, 2008, at Tennessee, ending a franchise-record 13-game winning streak at home. The coach pulled a handful of starters for the previously unbeaten Colts in the third quarter, and the Jets took advantage by rallying for a 29-15 victory that ended the NFL’s longest regular-season winning streak at 23 games.  The Jets’ win ended Indianapolis’ streak and showed once again how difficult it is to go undefeated.  As the clock wound down, some fans were silent and many left. Those who stayed booed as players shook hands, an odd way to end the record-setting 23-game streak.

MP3

Did you get everything you needed to buy for the Christmas gifts you were giving?  I know some people who wait until after Christmas and catch the sales for better price's on their Christmas gifts.  Many teens are wanting MP3 players  as gifts and if you weren't in the mood to spend that much money, then here's your chance to get one anyway. It may be after Christmas, but they will still get one, and be able to enjoy many hours of listening fun.

Carolina Takes The Giants.......

One of the ugliest moments in franchise history with a 41-9 rout that left New York hoping for a miracle ending to make the playoffs. The Giants, who started 5-0, knew what was at stake, the Panthers shredded New York’s defense for 416 yards, including 247 rushing. They needed to win their final two games and hope that either Green Bay or Dallas lost one of their remaining two.
Coupled with Green Bay’s win over Seattle, the only way the Giants can get to the playoffs for the fifth straight year would be if Dallas lost its final two games, starting on Sunday night against Washington, and New York beat Minnesota next week.
Can you say wishful thinking? Giants fans are skeptical: After booing their defense most of the day, many left the stadium well before the game ended.

Susanna Maiolo, identified by the Vatican as the woman who jumped a barrier inside St. Peter's Basilica at the start of Christmas Eve Mass, and rushed at Pope Benedict XVI for the second time in two years, managing to knock him down before being pulled away by security. The incident in the Basilica raised fresh questions about security for the pontiff, however, after officials said the woman involved had jumped the barrier at the 2008 Midnight Mass in a failed bid to get to the pope. She even wore the same red-hooded sweat shirt. Benedict, 82, wasn't hurt and delivered his traditional Christmas Day greetings in 65 languages from the loggia overlooking St. Peter's Square.
It seems that there are certain people in this world who don't understand the word "sacred".  It's this "new world" life that's been forced upon us all........

Level five is when a major eruption has begun.

Heisman Winner

Alabama running back Mark Ingram won the Crimson Tide their first Heisman Trophy in the award's closest vote.

Ingram wiped away tears and took a moment to steady himself before starting his speech. His voice wavered throughout.  The tough-running sophomore tailback turned tearful after winning the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night in the closest vote in the award’s 75-year history.
“I’m a little overwhelmed right now,” he said. “I’m just so excited to bring Alabama their first Heisman winner.”
In his final chance to make a case for the Heisman, facing Florida’s then-top-ranked defense, Ingram ran for 113 yards and scored three touchdowns to punctuate his season.
The son of the former Michigan State and NFL receiver of the same name. Tide coach Nick Saban had coached the elder Ingram in college.

Thank A Soldier........

Due to overwhelming demand, Thank A Soldier is having an overload, and so it's my pleasure to try and help by posting this article from their email to me.

STARTING THIS CAUSE
Why did you start Thank a soldier?
You can go to thankasoldier.net and read my "About Me" but briefly It started over three years ago when I heard there was a Tim Hortons in Afghanistan and came up with a Idea to send troops free coffee. Then just about a year ago I was listening to a song by Julian Austin called "The Red & White" which has a line in it "Do we take the time to thank a soldier" and it all started with that.

DONATIONS:

1. Why does this cause not have a beneficiary?
When this cause was first started December 28th 2008 I had chosen a Canadian Military charity as the beneficiary, but after a lot of people started to join from all over the world I wanted to make it about showing our men and women gratitude and not about donations so I removed it all together. As the numbers started to get larger and larger I was getting flooded with requests by charities to be added as the beneficiary also which got out of control.

2. How is Thankasoldier.net able to stay advertisement free and no donations?
Through the sale of our t-shirts we are able to pay for hosting fees and other expenses related to the site and I like not having any advertisements on there because it keeps the authenticity of the site and I have gotten many comments from soldiers and family members for keeping it that way.
