In this picture he looks much better than he did in the last few weeks.............Alas........he is no more...........The name "Senor Blacky" came from my spouse, who is part Mexican and speaks Spanish fluently. Blacky caught a car during the night, and when I looked out my front door this morning, his body was lying in the street...........his spirit gone...........Blacky was a stray that came to our yard last year and.........we started feeding him...............after our cat came up missing.......we tried to house break Blacky but he didn't go for it, so we had to leave him outside.........he caught a bad cold and we tried to nourish him as best we could but it wasn't to be.........lately he could be seen all crouched up trying to stay warm.......and I suppose the cold got to him and he must have been going across the street when a car hit him.......he will be missed sitting in the yard waiting for us to come home and feed him.............

Need Tax Help?

The time is upon us and we are gearing up to do our 2008 taxes. Like me, there are many, who are still waiting for their W-4's or 1099's. I've made sure that all the different places, I've worked have the right address and social security number. Now, the waiting begins and it seems to take forever for these places to send them. I'm glad that I don't live in a state where you have to file state taxes. Once I live in Oklahoma and had to file them along with the regular taxes. I had to find state income tax help because I didn't have the knowledge to file it correctly. I'm glad that I don't own a business, because I would have to file a 941 which is a employee withholding tax. The IRS IRS 941 is imposed and due each quarter but if not paid, penalties and interest will be added to the tax owed. If you do not make arrangements and let your taxes go ignored. They will close down your business and take all the property, which will be sold for the taxes owed. There's also a problem of being with a spouse that hasn't quite told you the truth about their tax situation. The IRS innocent spouse can be filed if you can prove that you had no knowledge of the misfiled tax. Only For Workers........

If worker's and companies are the only one's to benefit from this package, what about the one's who lost their jobs and the one's on fixed incomes? Is this fair to them?

Obama's proposal to stimulate the economy includes tax cuts of up to $300 billion, including $500 tax cuts for most workers and $1,000 for couples,as well as more than $100 billion for businesses, an official said. The total value of the tax cuts would be significantly higher than had been signaled earlier.

The tax cuts for individuals and couples would be similar to the rebate checks sent out last year by the Bush administration and Congress in a bid at that time to boost the slowing economy. A key difference is that the tax cuts this time around may be awarded through withholding less from worker paychecks. That provision would cost about $140-150 billion over two years.

In other words the people who don't have jobs will be left out of this package.......this is the way this wording is sounding to me..........It's not fair to fault the people who lost their jobs, and have no income to back them up with this package.

"We've got an extraordinary economic challenge ahead of us," Obama said. "We're expecting a sobering job report at the end of the week." Obama has insisted that bold and quick action is necessary if the nation is to rebound from the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression. He has said repeatedly he wants a plan that will create 3 million new jobs. People on fixed income's haven't heard of a thing, to help them with this new package, as far as I can tell..........they need help too..........

US Airways Plane Down.........

Around 3:26pm EST a US Airways plane leaving Laguardia Airport, enroute to Charleston,SC crashed into the Hudson River. The plane climbed to 3200 feet and developed problems, causing it to drop and crash into the Hudson. Pictures show fire, police and coast guard boats around the submerged plane. Survivers have been removed to safety. Some say birds may be to blame........

He's Gone....

The Cat of the House………. is no longer here, somehow we lost him, just before Thanksgiving and he hasn't come back. We've missed him terribly and every time we hear a sound, like one he would make, we jump up and run to the door to see if he's come home...............He was going off for 3 or 4 days and a time and then showing back up........but this time he didn't make it back........we've looked high and low...........he's just not in the neighborhood.

Dallas Looses an Officer

Senior Cpl. Smith A police officer was shot and killed, while trying to issue a warrant for the arrest of felon. This officer was 2 days short of being with the Police Department for 18 years. He was presently assigned to the "Gang Unit". The Dallas City Police Department, has been devastated, by this loss. Officer Norman,(43) was married to a Dallas Police officer and he and his wife have 2 children. Today, are the funeral services for him, and the local TV stations, are carrying it live, to show support for the police of our city. Many people have come forward with stories about how, he as a Cop worked with them and helped them get out of gangs and restore their lives, to being a better person. A candlelight vigil and memorial was held last night, for the fallen officer and his patrol car has been adorned with flowers and made into a memorial in front of the Police Station. Flags are flying half mast at the City, County and Federal buildings in the city and suburban areas of Dallas County. Our prayers are with his family, friends and co-workers...........

Obama

I saw Obama on TV this morning, give a speech about the failing economy. It seems, he's not waiting until he takes office to try and get the balls rolling on the problems at hand. I guess I can't blame him, because he's taking on a big national debt, and I'm sure will get applause for his efforts on the matters. I'm sure he's wondering if it was worth it, to prove that he could win...........and yet I suppose, to him and the black community, it will be worth everything.

Second Week of Invasion

An Israeli airstrike on a mosque in the Gaza Strip has killed 10 people and wounded dozens. The mosque is named after a founder of Hamas who was killed by Israel in 2004. Israel's offensive against Gaza's Islamic militant rulers entered a second week leaving destruction everywhere. The airstrikes are lessening and this is seen as a possible signal that a ground invasion could be nearing.
