Red Cross Helps
Dallas experienced another apartment fire around 10:30pm Monday night, which left 41 people homeless, right before the new year. None of the residents, or the firefighters, were injured during the incident. The American Red Cross is now helping the displaced residents find temporary homes. Since Thanksgiving, the American Red Cross has helped roughly 200 people displaced by four different apartment fires.

Donkeys
So why do farmers buy donkeys? What are they good for? I don't understand the need except maybe for pack animals. My sister lives on a ranch and they have some donkeys there. She pets them and feeds them apples when they come up to the fence. Lately it's been daily and I caught a picture of them while I was visiting this last weekend.

Wish Lists.....
I can't believe it, but I found this article about making "wish lists" for Christmas. It's supposed to help with keeping you from getting unwanted presents. I'm not sure this is considered proper, but either way it's happened and I think it takes away from the spirit of giving. It's supposed to be a surprise and your supposed to be thankful for what someone was able or nice enough to give you. Christmas has sure lost it's fun during the last few years.
Security
I'll admit there have been times, when I lived in a neighborhood where I didn't feel safe. It was necessary for me to get an extra door bolt for added protection. I hoped that it might deter an intruder long enough to make them give up and leave. It's nice to have a good bolt to secure your home and property. For more information on the different types and designs of door accessories, click on the above link and shop around the website.
Football
Have you noticed that when 2 football teams are playing and they are not in the playoffs, that they hold back their main players? I'm sure you know why this is, and even so I believe they should earn their salaries. The team manager's and coaches decide that it's best to bench these important players in order to protect their ability to play next season. They want them to stay healthy for the coming year. The idea is to play members of the team that you don't have as much money invested in, and who aren't as important to the team's success. The team has already lost the chance to make this season a winner, so it's a maintaining situation.
Auto Insurance
When you get to adding up all your monthly bills you realize that many are just too high. One of this is your car insurance and it keeps getting higher each year. It's nice when you can find cheap auto insurance online and get quotes almost immediately. The internet has given us a new way to shop and get benefits at a fast pace. To find great auto insurance that you can afford, click on the above link and apply for quotes.
Ripple Effect?
Opponents of the gay ban called Saturday's vote a historic victory. Since 1993, when President Bill Clinton signed the ban into law, more than 13,000 troops have been discharged under the policy.
But there's been a dramatic shift in public attitudes toward gays in the military over the last 17 years. In 1993, a Washington Post poll found just 44 percent of the public thought gays should have the right to serve openly in the military. In 2008, Obama campaigned on overturning the ban, but he was slow to push that policy in his first year in office, a move that angered the gay rights community and many of his liberal supporters.
While Obama will get some credit for overturning the ban—especially when it comes to wooing moderate Republicans on the issue—Democrats in Congress were the people who really led the charge.
I keep watching the changes that America has been going through, when will it end?

Tis' The Season.....
Around the house you will find people with their cameras pointed at family members, during this holiday season. That's what it's all about, during these times of family togetherness. Memories are best captured on film for future generations to look back on. You can have great pictures of these family times, and see what everyone was doing, while your back was turned. I know one family who has this certain person, who has her camcorder rolling during her family holiday's. I watched a few of the videos and enjoyed the memories.
Donations Down
There are many children still on the waiting list for Santa to have toys for them by Christmas. The toy donations are down this year and the local toy drive's are just not meeting the quota of needs. Several organizations who distribute toys each year are finding their shelves bare and there's still a few days until Christmas. It's a rough time to find the extra cash for such expenses. Some people are barely able to pay rent and have to rely on food banks to scrape by on food supplies. Give a helping hand to those in need and remember it's not just Christmas when the need is great, but all year.

Amelia or Not?
"You only have to say you have a bone that may be human and may be linked to Earhart and people get excited. But it is true that, if they can get DNA, and if they can match it to Amelia Earhart's DNA, that's pretty good." Earhart's disappearance on July 2, 1937, remains one of the 20th century's most enduring mysteries. Did she run out of fuel and crash at sea? Under the best circumstances, the analysis would take two weeks. If scientists have trouble with the sample, that time frame could stretch into months.

Mounts
Installing a new computer or TV system takes more equipment than when they weren't so complicated. Today's technology has lost boundaries on the amount of electronic equipment you can utilize in your home or office. Buying a rack mount to set the systems up in a sturdy setting is very important. The expensive electronic systems need a secure mount to keep them in tack and protect from possible disaster's. One fall can ruin a complete system for many days or indefinitely.
Food
Our Christmas dinner for the Red Cross unit I volunteer in was this last week and it was chocked full of good fattening food. I can only imagine what is to come when I go out to my family Christmas dinner? It's going to be a New Year full of dieting and trying to utilize Lipofuze to burn off some of the fat, I will gain. It's always so much harder to loose the fat than it is to gain it, and that takes plenty of work. Exercise is part of the resume that we have to face when loosing weight.
Almost Here
The holiday's have gotten here faster this year, than they seemed to back when I was younger. I am not feeling the Christmas spirit this year as in the past, either. I feel that I've lost the spirit of giving, with the way the government has put us in such financial turmoil. I see the shelter's and food banks full and realize that many are without during this season. Although it's been that way for many years, it seems even more paramount this year. I don't feel the fun of the "Christmas" season and the spirit is just not in me. This "scrooge" feeling has me depressed and I don't like it.
Boots
With winter approaching I'm sure you will be looking to get a new pair of boots. Braving the winter's cold can be harsh in Texas, but even more so in the middle to eastern states. You can find many different designs and prices when you shop for polo boots at this website. I visited it and saw many good bargains to choose from that you men would love to have. They also have a variety of womens boots to choose from and I'm sure you will love the price's as well.
Fall/Winter
This oak still has some green in it's leaves.
Which would you say it is, now that it's turned cold and the leaves are falling? I say here in Texas you just never know what the weather will be, because from one day until the next it can change drastically. I've taken pictures of the trees here in our neighborhood and notice a difference as well. This oak tree has more brown in it's leaves and they are located about 100 yards apart in the same courtyard. The tree next to this one on the right, has no leaves at all and I believe that the tree trimmers are at fault for this. They really gave this boy a trimming back during the summer and it's not come back since then. Winter will be trying for this tree, because of the exposed areas where it was trimmed.
The willow located across the street on the corner, seems to be doing well, as it blows in the nice 70 degree breeze we had this last week. It didn't last long because we already have 30 and 40 temps to deal with. So, I ask you........is it winter or fall?

Different View
At the corner of Ross & Haskell I noticed a different view of the Dallas skyline. I was sitting in my car and trying to take this picture, when another stupid car just had to drive up in the way. I''m sure you can see that there was quite a bit of haze in the sky and that made for a darker picture. The temps are up in the mid 70's today, which is drastic from 2 days ago when we had 30 degree weather. That's Texas weather for ya.........you just never know what's going to happen.

It's Cold......
It’s really getting cold here, in the DFW area……..it is down in the middle 30’s right now and doesn’t look to get much higher later today. I noticed that there was frost on my car windows this morning when I looked outside. I suppose it that’s time of year for us Texas to bundle up and stay warm……anyway it’s almost Christmas and that’s even better.

Turn Out The Lights, The Party's Over
Don Meredith, one of the most recognizable figures of the early Dallas Cowboys and an original member of ABC’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast team, died Sunday. He was 72.
Before a generation knew Meredith for his colorful broadcasting career, he was one of the most recognizable figures of the early Dallas Cowboys teams. “Dandy Don”, as he was affectionately known, shared time under center with Eddie LeBaron before winning the starting job in 1965.
Meredith led the Cowboys to three straight division titles and to consecutive NFL Championship games in 1966 and 1967. Meredith was born and raised in Mount Vernon, Texas—which is about 100 miles east of Dallas. He never played a home game outside of North Texas.

Blue Cross
There company we have heard of since we were growing up has been "Blue Cross Blue Shield". Many offices are located across the US and one of theme is Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina where convenience is necessary. Finding a good health plan is becoming a hard task. There are many companies trying to give you the best benefits for your money. The government is pushing for all families to have a good health care policy or get hefty fines. For more information, click on the above link.
Car Sales
It's that time of the year when car dealers are in full swing. They are issuing deals that are hard to beat this year and if your ready to buy, now is the time. Most dealers are giving 0% financing on their cars, and some are giving it up to 60 months. It's a good time to buy a new car and they are working much harder this year to make the sales start to rise, compared to the latest sales.

Tax Provisions
If worker's and companies are the only one's to benefit from this package, what about the one's who lost their jobs and the one's on fixed incomes? Is this fair to them?
Obama's proposal to stimulate the economy includes tax cuts of up to $300 billion, including $500 tax cuts for most workers and $1,000 for couples,as well as more than $100 billion for businesses, an official said. The total value of the tax cuts would be significantly higher than had been signaled earlier.
The tax cuts for individuals and couples would be similar to the rebate checks sent out last year by the Bush administration and Congress in a bid at that time to boost the slowing economy. A key difference is that the tax cuts this time around may be awarded through withholding less from worker paychecks. That provision would cost about $140-150 billion over two years.
In other words the people who don't have jobs will be left out of this package.......this is the way this wording is sounding to me..........It's not fair to fault the people who lost their jobs, and have no income to back them up with this package.
"We've got an extraordinary economic challenge ahead of us," Obama said. "We're expecting a sobering job report at the end of the week." Obama has insisted that bold and quick action is necessary if the nation is to rebound from the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression. He has said repeatedly he wants a plan that will create 3 million new jobs. People on fixed income's haven't heard of a thing, to help them with this new package, as far as I can tell..........they need help too..........

It's Mine
YOU CAN'T STEAL MY CHRISTMAS I don't know who they are Saying I can't greet the crowd The way that I want to Can't say CHRISTMAS out loud. I walk into a business place See things that I rather not see But dare I not say CHRISTMAS And ask for a 'holiday' tree. What happened to freedom of speech And living in the land of the free How can they take my CHRISTMAS money But can't say MERRY CHRISTMAS to me. Men and women have given their lives So we could still go free I wonder how they would feel At saying ' HOLIDAY ' TREE. Come on America let's wake up Don't let our freedom escape If they get by with doing this What else will they take. This is starting to get out of hand, And I've begun to keep track Well I've just about had enough I'M TAKING CHRISTMAS BACK. So MERRY CHRISTMAS America I hope this gets all over the net If we all stand united and take freedom back 'Twill be our best CHRISTMAS YET! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY |

Jobs
Jobs are very hard to find and many people are taking on construction jobs just to have some type of income coming into their home. It's possible to find these jobs, through different employment agencies, and now you can access them online. You can see what has been posted for hire, on the day the job becomes open. It's necessary to read through all the qualifications, before you apply. Location of the position is important as well.
The Farm
Mys sister lives on a farm, and while I was out visiting over the Thanksgiving holiday's I took some pictures of their land around the house.
Birthday
Yesterday was my birthday and I made sure to have some fun........as you can tell there were other people helping me.......
TV Stands
The holiday season is approaching and with it comes new electronics that we all are anxious to get. I know that you will need new tv stands to support the larger big screens. The entertainment centers can house most of it, but the larger screens just won't fit. You can also look to need a stand for the new electronic devices that comes with your new TV. Some are built in but many aren't and need their own space. For more information and to do some shopping, click on the above link.

Reindeer
It's that time of the year, when people up in Wyoming get ready for hunting season and sleigh rides.
One year, I went up to Jackson Hole and couldn't believe my eyes, when I saw how they had the city adorned. The city square had arches of elk antlers set up at each corner, and the sidewalks were made of wood so as to endure the harsh winters they experience up in those parts. Reindeer, were used to pull the sleighs as part of the Christmas celebrations. I didn't stay around long enough to enjoy those, because the snow was mounting really high, and I am cold natured.
Gaming
I was involved in a gaming community for at least 2 years. It gave me the benefits of a possible jackpot that would be doubled, should I win. Naturally, that didn't happen, and so I decided that it was time to stop all the high payments I was making to have an account with them. I can still play their games, and have the chance to win. I don't expect that to happen, but one never knows how things might turn out. It would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath.

Meeting The Parents
I thought this was cute and just had to put it on here. It just about sums up the idea of blogging, if your good at it…….lol.
Good Job
There are all kinds of reasons, to get an award. It's most fun to receive one, when your not expecting it. Getting credit for a job well done, is one of the best feelings to have in this day and time. Often you see people getting plaques for heroic actions in their communities. There are many ways to find just the right time to give awards. For more information on types of plaques that you can purchase, click on the above link and look around.
Back Woods........
A friend sent this joke to me and it was so cute I had to share it with you guys…..
A redneck family from the hills was visiting the city and they were in a mall for the first time in their lives. The father and son were strolling around while the wife shopped. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and then slide back together again.
The boy asked, ‘Paw, what’s at?’ The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, ‘Son, I dunno. I ain’t never seen anything like that in my entire life, I ain’t got no idea’r what it is.’
While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, a fat old lady in a wheel chair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small circular number above the walls light up sequentially.
They continued to watch until it reached the last number and then the numbers began to light in the reverse order. Then the walls opened up again and a gorgeous, voluptuous 24 year-old blonde woman stepped out. The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said quietly to his son,
‘Boy………………go git cha Momma……………’Druggies
I have been the victim of people who live on the streets. You can say they have no class or nothing is sacred to them. I say they, just need another fix and will sell their soul if necessary to get that money for the next hit of dope. They will sell you their food stamps for half price, let you hold their bank card until the 1st of the month for some money. The list goes on and on with their need for a fix.

Wrinkles
Are you looking for a product to ease the effects of aging, and get rid of those wrinkles? I found a wrinkle cream guide located on the web, which gives you great reviews about the one's you can use. You can read about different creams, what their side effects are and how you can utilize them to benefit your skin. A good wrinkle cream should give you the skin you are wanting in just a matter of days. For more information, click on the above link and look around.
The Male Thing
Life's quirks have a way of disrupting the normal way we enjoy things. Men find that as they age, things don't work as well as they did back in their younger days. It's necessary for them to find male enhancement products
to help with nature's let down. If they need to find the support then I suggest contacting their doctor for an opinion and getting an expert direction. For more information about these products, click on the above link and look around the website.

Buff
My body has gone beyond the stage of being buff, because of it's age. I look at these people who are body building and wonder just what they will look like when they get to be my age. They work very hard to build muscles and look buff. It takes a lot of effort, stamina and determination to make those muscles become lean and hard. I wonder if I could make it through one week of weight lifting and training? For more information about building muscles, click on the above link.
Giving Thanks
Our family was strewn around this fine country, as we celebrated Thanksgiving this year. My children couldn't make it so, my sister and I spent time with my Mom and step-dad. Who knows if they will be here next year or not?
Thanksgiving
In a few days, many of us will gather around the kitchen table for a fine feast of turkey & dressing with all the trimmings. It will be a time for families, to get together and give thanks for being together one more year. There are families, who won't be able to be together, because of thing or another, but their hearts, minds and souls will be there with those they love and care about. To my friends and readers, who I offer my fellowship........have a great time and Happy Thanksgiving.....!

Looking in the Mirror
If you think this looks bad, just think of what I'm thinking looking at my old fat face. I look at how the years have taken their toll on my face and body. Boy, what a good makeover would do for this face. I wish I could have afforded good anti aging products to help my skin. Now, I am stuck with this mug and it's not a very pretty sight. No wonder I can't find a nice man who wants to spend the rest of his life with me. For more information on good products, click on the above link.

Cyber Monday
The rush to get those special deals on items for Christmas, is just around the corner. This brings Black Friday as well as Cyber Monday into focus with the stores making huge deals you can't afford to miss. I wonder if my sister in law with be getting up at 3am to make a dash to the stores this year? This has been a tradition with her and her daughter each year and I'm sure they will try to maintain it again this year. I'm not a morning person, so I'll make the effort to do my shopping along with other people who can't seem to get up early as well.
Needs Cleaning
I have an aquarium that has a few tropical fish in it. Ever so often the filter system builds up sludge and I have to take it apart and clean out the mess. I hear it making a noise at me, which is telling me the small turbine inside it is laboring to work properly. This means it's time to do the cleaning job, which takes a few minutes of washing the filters, removing the turbine and cleaning out the area it's located in so it can turn without restriction. I'm going to make an effort to get this done today, without procrastination.

Remote Control
I'm sure you've endured these toys running through your house, during the holiday's. My grandson's really enjoy hitting your foot, just to watch you winch in pain from the attack. These rc trucks are really evolved, compared to the one's we bought back 10 years ago. Forward, backward, right and left have become the features offered with these new trucks. Looking at the website, I also saw cars equipped with these features. How can you miss, getting a good gift for the young at heart in your family?

Epiduo
I found a review that told about the side effects of epiduo and what to expect if you use this product. They tell the ingredients that are in this product and how it rids the skin of all the oils, which can cause a drying, burning effect. I know that many skin products produce these kind of side effects and are purchase over the counter like this one is. For more information about this product, click on the above link and read the review for yourself.
What's Up?
There's mystery happening at Facebook, and it seems that we will know after this coming Monday. What can it be that is so secretive with the possibility of a new service? Will Facebook offer a new email, a new game or what? I read that it could cause a frinzy at Google and that might give us some incentive to re-evaluate our searching on the web.

New Watch........
I found several different websites, that have a vast selection of watches. I've been looking to buy a nice watch, to give for a gift. I found some of the ladies and men's watches to be very elegant and affordable. I would need one with more sport than elegance for my active lifestyle. I like to gad about a lot and it just wouldn't be the right type of watch I needed to wear.
These watches varied in price and styles depending on the brands and dealers. This website has the Best of Time - Where Time Lasts Forever and the watches are outstanding. I suggest looking at the jacques lemans watch brand and see if there is a watch you are interested in.They are assembled with precision and put through several hours of testing before being sold on the market. So, you can give strength to the fact that this is an old dealer, with plenty of years of watch design. This dealer will give you a handsome watch that you’ll love to wear. Check them out and find the one that’s right for you. I suggest when looking for a nice watch, going to this website and shopping around for price and value.

So, you can give strength to the fact that this is an old dealer, with plenty of years of watch design. This dealer will give you a handsome watch that you’ll love to wear. Check them out and find the one that’s right for you. I suggest when looking for a nice watch, going to this website and shopping around for price and value.
Beautiful Day
It's a really nice day outside, in the Dallas area. We have sun, clear skies and cool temperatures. It's been a week of sun, clouds, cool fronts, and rain. Once again we have sun and it looks as if "fall" has completely set in. The leaves are starting to fall from the trees and very soon they will be bare once again. This tells me that winter in not far away, and it's time to get out my winter clothes and freshen then for use.

My Sleep
My sleep has become so erratic, and I find myself rolling and tumbling half the night trying to get back to sleep. It seems there is so much running around in my head, that I can't relax with taking something to help me sleep. I am so tired in the mornings and would really like to sleep a full 8 hours once in awhile. They say that there are certain ways, to help with this problem. For more information about sleep problems, you can click here and look around the website.
America Safe?
Seven years after 9/11, al Qaida and its allies are gaining ground across the region. Bin Laden and his inner circle have established new bases inside Pakistan , where they plotted deadly attacks in London and Madrid , and where U.S. intelligence officials say they're plotting new attacks and training recruits. This year Taliban has carried out their most lethal attacks against foreign troops, launching coordinated strikes in different areas that combine regular attackers and suicide bombers. Last month over a two-day period the insurgents hit a major U.S. base in eastern Afghanistan with at least 10 suicide bombers and a ground force and ambushed a French-Afghan patrol near Kabul. The insurgents' strategy has two major goals: to erode popular support for the U.S.-backed governments in Islamabad and Kabul and to undermine popular backing in the United States and allied countries for continuing the mission in Afghanistan . They appear to be succeeding, with recent polls in Britain , France , Holland and Canada showing majorities favoring troop withdrawals. How can you blame them, when they see no progress in the control over the Taliban?

Identity
The rfid chip in a credit card emits the account number, expiration data and other information. Prevent electronic pick pocketing, identity theft, and payment fraud by blocking the personal information being sent by radio waves from your credit cards, passports, and other ID cards. Help spread the word about the need for RFID blocking products by telling your friends and family before they become victims of identity theft. I know how it feels, it's already happened to me twice.
Loosing
So many times in a person’s life many forms of grief many to take the strength out of one’s daily course of life. It may come in the form of losing a job, losing a friend to a difference of opinion, losing a husband to another woman and all too gripping death of a loved one. I’ve seem to hit on everyone one I’ve mentioned so far. Losing jobs was a real custom down through the years. Most of the time it was my own fault. A few times it was low performance or too many circumstances that developed in my life. Have you ever thought there was a black cloud over your head? Well, it seemed that way so often, I wondered if I could ever accomplish a thing that would be stable. As of today, I am still finding that life just keeps dealing out some many defeats. It’s really possible to get into a rut of doing the wrong things rather that over coming the defeat and building steps to climb out of it. I’ve lost many acquaintances to careless words and opinions. Believe me I can be rather harsh all too often. I feel it’s my duty to tell a person, what’s wrong with them, their life, their actions and men they seem to care about. God, knows why. I feel there’s so much information in my head that people need to know. I hope that some of it will help them, get over the problem they have and cause insight into their situations. The problem is they mostly want you to listen to them and sympathize with them. They want to whine on your shoulder and have a confidant to pal with. A crutch in other words. I seem to loose many people that way and wonder what could I have possibly done wrong. It bothers me to think that this one would have been a good chum to hang out with. This is a well experienced subject. Loosing to another woman. I’ve gone from loosing the guy to the next girl, who showed up to down right loosing to a competitor. Loosing to the next girl that showed up, was easy since I really hadn’t developed a close relationship with the man. But loosing to a competitor was rough on my ego. Feeling like a whipped puppy wasn’t a good thing. Now, as I look back they did me a favor, but at the time it was happening, I couldn’t figure out what they had that I didn’t. I had always thought that I could get a guy and have him wrapped around my finger. Well, a rude awakening made me change my opinion of my abilities. Still the man I really loved left me, after I told him, I couldn’t put up with the abuse of me or our children. I went through a real hard time of cutting myself from the hold he had on me. Having to go on because I had children, was what seem to help with the daily efforts. Working two jobs help too. Boy, did I feel lost. Here I was stuck with responsibilities, feeling alone. I didn’t have him around, to just at least be there, whether good or bad. I wasn’t part of a couple and felt like a outcast when visiting friends at their get to gathers. I was a mess. Then there’s the death of a loved one. Devastating can’t describe how you feel. I went numb as if I was watching someone else going through it. I walked around as if I was floating outside the situation. I listened to people’s condolences but they all sounded the same. I felt they were mouthing the words, but didn’t really mean a word they said. I just wanted to get away from it all. Maybe if I did, it would all change and get better. I lost my appetite, time seem to stand still and I had a hard time just getting up and walking to another room. Everywhere, was thing’s of theirs. The chair they sat in to watch TV. Their clothes, shoes, toys. I found the strength to help make the arrangements and go to the funeral and graveside services. Then even worse things started. Here came to extended family, wanting what they could get. I just wanted to be left alone for a few days, then I would work with them. That wasn’t going to happen. So, I packed a few things and went to my son’s and stayed for a few weeks, until they had gotten what they thought they were happy with. I came back to see what was left and was surprised to see, that most of my original things were still there. I moved them and gave up the house to his children and let them do what they wanted. Thank God I got a job, this was the move that sent me forward into a new lif.
Bar Code
We are all accustomed to the cashier using the all mighty bar code scanner. It's become a way of life now that technology has evolved. They are saying that the Symbol LS2208 is a very reliable scanner, with all it's high tech qualities. The scanner can be used in many different lines of work as long as there are "upc codes" on the products. It's nice when the cashier doesn't have to wait for a price to be found. They can scan the price and your on your way much faster than before.
Men/Boys
Now I’m sure your thinking this is about small boy’s. I’m not talking about the children aspect……..actually, I guess I am on a different level.
I’m talking about men who “pout” and make your life miserable when they don’t get their way. I’m so tired of this “little boy” thing where “you’ll take your toys and go home, if we don’t play your way!”
Not being a “morning person”, leaves me open to the perils of this morning person”. I love to sleep-in on the weekends and he’s up at 6:00am with the TV on. Most of the time he has the decency to turn it down low. But he still coughs, blows his snout, talks to the cat, and goes back and forth to the bathroom. Five or six days a week, I get up and make coffee, to get him off to work. So, why can’t he sleep in at least one day, with me? Hey, we live in a small house and every little sound catches my ears. I lived alone for 4 years, so listening for sounds was a priority, to safety. Now it’s just a aggravation to my sleeping in.
The cat doesn’t help either. He loves to run through the house, romping and playing with whatever. During these romps, he knocks things over or goes sliding on the kitchen floor. If he only knew what I was thinking about doing to him, he might get somewhere in the corner and be quiet.
What possessed me to think that I needed a relationship, in the first place….is beyond me. I thought I was alone and lonely……..yeah, right! Back then it was the man across the street, interrupting my sleep on the weekends, cranking up his loud truck or riding lawn mower. Oh yeah, he rode the lawn mower, right by my bedroom window, mowing the yard next door. I’m positive he was trying to do it to aggravate me. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!) Anyway, I could rumble around and get up when I wanted, without putting up with someone else’s needs. Yeah, it was lonely, but nice and peaceful. Why did I take that away from myself and get this “morning person” to bother me? I sure haven’t any clue.

Turkey Day
In a few days, many of us will gather around the kitchen table for a fine feast of turkey & dressing with all the trimmings.

Goodbye Sparky
All of Detroit mourns Sparky, who died Thursday in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Anderson died from complications from dementia, family spokesman Dan Ewald said. A day earlier, Anderson's family said he had been placed in hospice care. He was 76.
Sparky, at his best, made baseball fun. He made it fun for the fans, and he made it fun for the ballplayers. And he made it fun for the ink-stained wretches who chased after the Tigers, listened to his wisdom, and chuckled at his anecdotes.

Tomas Heads for Haiti
As news of Tomas' predicted arrival slowly filtered through Port-au-Prince via windup radios and megaphone announcements, unease set in among people who already lost homes and loved ones in the quake and saw their tents ripped apart in lesser storms this year. Concerns are even greater in the western reaches of Haiti's southern peninsula, where heavy flooding is predicted. Disaster officials have extended a red alert, their highest storm warning, to all regions of the country, as the storm is expected to wind its way up the west coast of the island of Hispaniola, which Haiti shares with the Dominican Republic, through storm-vulnerable Gonaives and Haiti's second-largest city, Cap-Haitien, sometime Friday.

Hurricane Tomas
Hurricane Tomas bore down on the Caribbean resort island of Saint Lucia, packing winds above 75 miles per hour. As of Tuesday some communities remained cut off by the disaster, estimated to have cost the island 100 million dollars. At least 12 people were killed and unfortunately there are still people who are buried from the landslides and wrecked houses.
The hurricane may hit Haiti this week, adding to the woes of a nation where cholera is spreading in the countryside and more than 1 million earthquake survivors have only a plastic tarp or tent to protect them.

US Families on Food Stamps......
Hawaii and other states are quietly expanding eligibility and offering the benefit to more working, moderate income families. A study found that 32 states have adopted rules making it easier to qualify for food stamps since 2007. In all, 38 states have loosened eligibility standards. Hawaii has gone farther than most, allowing a family to earn up to $59,328 and still get food stamps. I need to live there! Eligibility for food stamps varies from state to state, with the 11 most generous states allowing families to apply if their gross income is less than double the federal poverty line of $22,050 for a family of four on the U.S. mainland. The threshold is higher in Alaska and Hawaii. With more than 1 in 8 Americans now on food stamps, participation in the program has jumped about 70 percent from 26 million in May 2007, while the nation's unemployment rate rose from 4.3 percent to 9.2 percent through September of this year. I think it's about time for me to try and apply since I'm on a fixed income.
Dark Circles
Have you noticed that people who have olive skin tend to have the largest dark circles under their eyes? I've also seen people who have light skin with big purple circles under their eyes. Either way they are a sign that something isn't right. Sometimes all it takes to ease the effects is getting the best eye cream for dark circles that you can afford. I can't afford the best so, I try the cheaper ones to see if one will do the trick.
Elections
I'm sure there's going to be a huge battle between the Democrats, Republicans and Independents in November. I find that it's becoming harder to really know who your voting for until it's too late. When they are already in office and doing damage, it's too late to do anything. Hopefully, someone out there will get the inside information on these people before we put them in office.........Come on America.........it's time!

Wrinkles
I have to accept it that I have gotten to the age that wrinkles are becoming apparent on my face and body. It's a long road I've take to get here, but they are there. I could use some anti wrinkle cream to combat these things and maybe get rid of some of the old age. I consider it hard to look very good at all with all the years that's been fighting against my skin. It will take some major work to make this face look any better.
This Blog
My poor “blog” is working hard today, it’s giving me it’s all and then some. I truly feel sorry for it, as I feel sorry for myself. I got me into this and now it’s go for it or forget it! I guess with time it will roll off, like water off a duck’s back. Right now, it’s just beginning and already I’m wondering if I can keep up. If it’s not “feast”, it’s “famine”. One day you sit around and look for jobs and the next their coming out of the woodworks, with “get it done, NOW”. You don’t dare let it ride for 2 seconds, or someone else will zap it up, like a vulture. It’s there, grab it or it’s gone. “Whoosh”!
I’m still a beginner at this stuff, so I’m playing it safe, until I am more experienced. Don’t want to come off totally stupid…lol

User's IDs At Risk
All of the 10 most popular apps on Facebook were transmitting users' IDs to outside companies. The apps, ranked by research company Inside Network Inc., include Zynga Game Network Inc.'s FarmVille, with 59 million users, and Texas HoldEm Poker and FrontierVille. Three of the top 10 apps, including FarmVille, also have been transmitting personal information about a user's friends to outside companies.
Anyone can use an ID number to look up a person's name, using a standard Web browser, even if that person has set all of his or her Facebook information to be private. For other users, the Facebook ID reveals information they have set to share with "everyone," including age, residence, occupation and photos. The Wall Street Journal found that one data-gathering firm, RapLeaf Inc., had linked Facebook user ID information obtained from apps to its own database of Internet users, which it sells. RapLeaf also transmitted the Facebook IDs it obtained to a dozen other firms, the Journal found.
This is scary and worries me........I just thought I would put this on here for my reader's to see, in case they were worried like I am......

Acne
I don't believe there is anything worse than horrible acne, when you are going through high school. Puberty takes it's toll on teenager's skin and leaves awful looking scars to ruin everything. Many acne products have been on the market for several years. It's been necessary for many of us to go to dermatologists to get good treatments for this skin problem.

Miner's Free
All of the Chilean miner's are now free from being trapped in the mine over 69 days. They now have the task of getting on with their lives, and starting the process of trying to get back income. It will not be easy since there is a lot of red tape involved in the process. The company is trying to maintain, along with rebuilding the mine, that has been in business many years.
Insurance
The government has said that we who are not working anymore can get cheaper auto insurance. Last year when I asked about it, they gave me cheap auto insurance but then it went back up this year. I haven't called them as yet, but it's probably a good idea, since I'm on a fixed income and can use all my extra dollars for food. I am going to click on the above link and look at the benefits they offer.

It's The Last Week
The Texas State Fair begins Sept. 26th and ends Oct. 19th. and during this time has plenty of fun for everyoneof food, amuseides, shows and exhibitions. The fair has been around since the early 1800' and has brought many exclusive entertainers to the Midway, during the years. Big Tex is the main attraction on the Midway and speaks a "welcome" to the crowds that visit several times a day during the Fair. His "Howdy Pardner", has been heard many years. The voice of Big Tex has been made by the same man, all these years until he passed away and a new voice took over. Big Tex, still talks and thrills the children when they see his jaw moving as he speaks. Big Tex first started as a gimmick in Kerens, TX as a Santa to draw customers for the Christmas rush. In 1951, the Texas State Fair president purchased Kerens Chamber of Commerce Santa components for $750 and hired Dallas artist create a giant cowboy out of the material. Big Tex made his first appearance at the 1952 State Fair of Texas. Wearing size 70 boots and a 75-gallon hat, Tex towered 52' above wide-eyed visitors. His denim jeans and plaid shirt were donated by the H. D. Lee Company of Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Cosmetic surgery the following year straightened his nose, corrected a lascivious wink and allowed him to talk.

Accutane
I need to check with my son, about the treatments he took for his horrible acne. A scientific study, conducted and published in 2006, established that taking Accutane increases the risk of contracting inflammatory bowel disease. Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis are types of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that affect the colon and other parts of the digestive tract. IBD involves inflammation and ulcers in that can result in cramping, pain, diarrhea, bleeding, and frequent bowel movements.
This product is a form of vitamin A used to treat severe, cystic acne and is usually given after other acne medicines or antibiotics have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms. A published study reviewed all cases of IBD diseases (like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) that were linked to Accutane and reported to the FDA. In a five-year period, 85 cases were reported. In four of the cases it was determined that it was “highly probable” that Accutane was the cause. In addition, 58 cases a link between Accutane use and IBD was deemed “probable.” Due to these and other serious side effects, Accutane was taken off the market in 2009. If you suffer from these injuries, you may have a valid Accutane lawsuit
against the manufacturers of Accutane. It is important to contact a legal counsel about this product.

Blue Friday
Blue Fridays……..
Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing blue every Friday. The reason?
Americans who support our troops used to be called the ’silent majority’ We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday — and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that … every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something blue. By word of mouth, press, TV — let’s make the United States on every Friday a sea of blue, much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.
If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in BLUE and it will let our troops know the once ’silent’ majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked ‘What can we do to make things better for you?’ is …’We need your support and your prayers.’ Let’s get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something blue every Friday.
We live in the land of the free, only because of the brave.

My Dreams
There was a time for love…
But only in my dreams.
Fleeting moments of happiness
flooded my soul..
I was unable to keep control,
The love was felt, only by me
The distance very clear,
I still couldn’t see
There was no love for me.
Try as I could, the best heart to give,
I gave to the world,
Where I wanted to live.
My dreams billowed as clouds,
Swirling, becoming wild with excitement.
My eyes just couldn’t see
The clouds were black and green.
As the storm pounded my world,
I found disaster at every thought.
Gone the beautiful fluffy dreams,
Lost the excitement of love.
The heart had no place to go, no place to grow.
No way to give, so how could it live?
There was a time for love……..
But only in my dreams………….

The heart had no place to go, no place to grow.
No way to give, so how could it live?
There was a time for love……..
But only in my dreams………….

Call It Stupid.......
What’s up with these young people, who think the freeway, is their personal raceway?
Have you seen these young people on these Ninja motorcycles, flying at top speeds down the freeway? It’s amazing, how they just pop a “wheely” and cruise down the road on the back wheel, for X amount of minutes. then down they come, almost loosing control of the bike.
No wonder there are so many deaths on these bikes. They should be outlawed, to anyone under thirty years of age. I’m not sure that would change the statistics any. I have a couple of children, in their thirties, that I don’t believe, would have any better sense, than to do the same as these, young idiots.
It takes my breath every time one passes me on the road. I’m just praying that he will get past me without loosing control and sliding under my car or the one’s in front of me. I’m afraid the site of such an accident would scar my emotions, for the rest of my life. I would have a hard time sleeping at night, should my car hit a person’s body lying in the road.
My spouse calls them potential “organ donors” , to which I definitely agree. What more horrible thing for parents to experience than loosing a young adult child to such a thing. Just think of all the hopes and dreams they’ve wanted for that child, now destroyed, from reckless fun.
I realize the adrenaline is flowing, when they go at high speeds down the freeways. Passing cars with the idea that we are “eating their dust”, can only cause a frinzy to the excitement, they feel.
I only hope that the laws are adjusted to stop this kind of accidents, and save the lives of these young people. It’ really sad that anyone has to suffer from reckless actions. Unfortunately, the world is full of uncontrolled stupid actions.

Skin Treatments
There are so many different skin problems, and as we get older it seems there are more popping up. I've seen several older people with blackheads, and I wonder if they wash their skin properly? It's necessary to get a good blackhead treatment if you notice these things becoming a problem. I wonder if a deep cleanser would help? I have had several skin problems in the past year's be was unable to afford good skin care facilities.
St. Jude Children's Hospital
I have such a hard time dealing with the poor little babies and children having to go through this horrible disease. It’s just not right, for these little things to be going through treatments, being poked with needles and throwing up their guts, from the Chemo. I wish there was something I could do, but there isn’t much anyone can do, except, fund the researchers, in looking for a cure, and helping in the fight these sweet children are having.
Marlo Thomas, is carrying on the dream of her father the famous actor Danny Thomas, by working with his St. Jude’s hospital team, to further the help and research so desperately needed to care for these children. St. Jude’s is a hospital, that gives hope and help to victims and families throughout the world. Because of research, many children, will get the best treatment available for their type of cancer.
By helping this institution, you are giving a child a chance for a future. Send a donation today, and help a child.

Loosing........
Thank God I got a job, this was the move that sent me forward into a new life

Jimmy Carter
The outspoken former President Jimmy Carter was a passenger on a commercial flight to Cleveland on Tuesday morning and became ill. An airport spokesman says he Carter was taken off the plane by rescue crews and has been hospitalized in Cleveland.
We hope that he gets well, and back on the road with his outspoken ideas for our country.
