Memorial for Victims

 

People lay flowers as they attend a rally to commemorate the victims of a bomb explosion at Domodedovo airport, in central Moscow January 27, 2011.  From one side of the world to the other, the vicious attack of terrorists can cause deep sorrow.  Our condolences go out to the families, friends and coworkers who must go on after this horrible loss.

Winter Scene

 

This is a beautiful picture, but many are having to make daily efforts to keep their lives rolling along, even with the winter blast.  It looks as though the Midwest, is about to get a good dose of winter with the new predictions, that have been put into place.  It's 12:30pm here in the DFW area and I can already feel the chill that is preceding the coming weather.  By tomorrow, we should be having the winter blast in full array, and many will not be ready to endure.  I need to get some more wood for the fireplace, before the day ends, because I know how cold this apartment got 2 weeks ago, when we had a wintry blast.  The central heat didn't work as well as I needed it to, and I felt cold the whole time.

Cold & Flu

Man, the season is here, and I got my share of the stuff this week.  I'm so sick of this crap and my ribs hurt so bad from all the coughing and sneezing.  I ran fever for 2 days, and took all that stuff you need to take to get it under control.  I still had hot running water nose, and throat tickling coughs which made for a bad time.  Things a better, but the ribs are still sore and the nose is raw.

Jewelry

You wouldn't believe how many bracelets that I have lost.  Hey, that's money down the drain and loosing a diamond tennis bracelet  is not funny, when it was a gift from someone special.  I am about ready to invest in another one, and will be very sure to make every effort to have a secure clasp put on it.  I tried several times to get one store to make a clasp secure and they never got it right.  Eventually the loss occurred, and I was very angry about it.

I Need

I wonder why I let my needs get my mood so upset, when I know that I can't control the actions of others?  I find that I'm searching for someone all the time and that's not good.  I will be too easy for some sweet talking person, and end up getting into a relationship that I don't want or need.  You ask how I know this to be fact?  Well, my experience speaks for itself, and believe me there have been some specters of a kind.  I would love to be with someone but don't need the crap, so here I sit........alone.

Karaoke

I sit here with the crud and there's no way I would be able to carry a tune tonight.  Even the best karaoke machine and microphone  wouldn't be able to pull that one out for me.  I love to sing and there are several places in town that have karaoke on certain nights, to pull in that type of people.  I've noticed that the machines are getting more advanced and I'm sure they can give you any song background you want to try and belt out.

The Crud

Well, here I am with the "crud" and it's being really mean to me.  I usually can fight these things and bounce back in no time, but there have been many around me who kept coughing and blowing their noses.  It finally took it's toll on me and now I sit here with fever, sore throat, coughing and drainage from the nose down my throat, keeping it raw.  I don't feel like going to work this evening, and so that's money I lost out on, which was needed to pay some extra bills made this month.

Stamps

When your needing to label certain boxes, letters, envelopes and such it's good to have rubber stamps  with the suggested type or destination for these products.  I have seen certain companies who will make signature stamps for the CEO's to use when processing duplicate papers or procedures.  You can find different designs to obtain, at your local office supply store.  Going online can give you an even greater discount, so check out the above website, before you order.

Shop Smart

When you get a good deal, stock your freezer so you can avoid buying when the price is high. And if you plan on freezing the food, "best before" dates shouldn't worry you; the product will stay fresh until you thaw and cook it.  Pay attention to sales on necessity items and stock up on non-perishables and freezer goods.  Knowing what you have in the cabinet means that you can wait to make your purchases until items are on sale.  To minimize your cash outlay, prepare a shopping list before you leave home. Once the list is made, purchase only the items on the list, and avoid impulse buys.  I find I can get through the store faster by looking only for the items I have on my list.  When my list has been completed, then I go to the checkout line and make my exit.

Lights

 It's always sparse lighting in apartments and I could certainly use more in here.  I'm glad that I kept my lamps when I moved, because it would be hard to light the living room, the way the ceiling lights  are placed here in this apartment.  Actually, there aren't any in the living room so the lamps will have to do the duty that is needed.  I believe good lighting helps give great effects to any room.  For information about all the different designs this website offers, click on the above link.

News

Have you noticed how depressing the news is?  Everyday something bad is happening and the news media is all over it.  I can understand getting good coverage, but sometimes you just want to hear something good for a change.  I think the new media puts too much out there and there are innocent minds that could really do without all the extra information given.

J&J Faults Cleaning

Johnson & Johnson's reputation has been tarnished by repeated recalls totaling nearly 200 million bottles in the last year and it could face criminal charges from the U.S. Department of Justice.  The company investigation found insufficient equipment cleaning procedures and instances where people failed to adequately document cleaning at McNeil's Fort Washington, Pa. plant.  Johnson & Johnson is now recalling bottles and packages of various kinds of Tylenol, Benadryl, Rolaids and other consumer products.  The company recalled nearly 43 million bottles of Tylenol 8 Hour, Tylenol Arthritis Pain, Tylenol Upper Respiratory, Benadryl, Sudafed PE and Sinutab.  Additionally, nearly 4 million bottles, rolls and packages of Rolaids were recalled.
Once again we have this problem, and it never seems to end.

Brazil Hit with Floods....

 

Residents walk between fallen trees after a landslide in Teresopolis January 13, 2011. The death toll from the devastated mountainous region near the city of Rio de Janeiro was expected to rise as rescuers reached the more remote areas. Heavy rains earlier in the week killed 13 people in Sao Paulo state, bringing the total number of deaths in southern Brazil to at least 500.

More disasters are reeking havoc on people and properties around the world.  The disaster organizations are in dire need of help, in order to give assistance to these victim's.

I wonder just what set this young man off?  It's a terrible thing to loose a life, and certainly he has lost his as well.  I can't imagine why this young man could hate someone so bad that he could do this horrible thing?  My heart goes out to his parents as they struggle to deal with this tragic ordeal.  I pray for peace in their hearts as well as the hearts of the families and friends of the victims. 

A New One

I made mention recently that I had to same cell phone that I had for over 6 years.  It took no time for my sister to come up with the idea of buying me a new one for Christmas.  I don't mind the nice gesture, but these new cell phones  are hard for an old person like me to learn.  The instructions are in fine print and it takes a young person to decipher all the different benefits involved.  I'm doing well to answer an incoming call and make one with this new thing.

Ending & Beginning

We ended the old year and took off on a new venture with the new year ahead of us.  Some of us lost loved one's and some of us gain new one's to learn to love.  It's been a rather hard time for all people, due to the loss of jobs and lower benefits for our daily lives.  We've made it, but it was hard and now there are many who are still suffering from the hardships.  The coming year offers us hope of a better time, and possible future gains.
