Ben Walsh accepts the Sacrifice Medal on behalf of his son Master Corporal Jeffrey Walsh from Canada's Governor General Michaelle Jean during a ceremony at Rideau Hall in Ottawa November 9, 2009. Master Corporal Jeffrey Walsh died in an accidental shooting in Afghanistan. The medal recognizes sacrifices made by members of the Canadian Forces and those who work with them who have been wounded or killed because of hostile action or action intended for a hostile force.
