A slick assumed to be from the fuel of Air France flight AF447 is seen from the window of a Brazilian Air Force plane patrolling the crash area in the open Atlantic Ocean some 745 miles of Recife. Air France has told families of passengers on Flight 447 that the jetliner broke apart and they must abandon hope that anyone survived, as Brazilian ships neared debris bobbing in the Atlantic. At a private meeting with families, they were told that the plane disintegrated either in the air or when it slammed into the ocean and there were no survivors. Our condolences are sent out to the families and friends of this horrible diseaster.
