In this Dec. 10, 2007 file photo, veteran actor James Whitmore speaks in support of Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Whitmore, a Tony-and Emmy-winning actor, who was also nominated for an Oscar, died of lung cancer, Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, in his Malibu home, according to his son Steve Whitmore.
