A policeman stands guard over three bodies in the small town of Marysville, northeast of Melbourne after raging Australian wildfires left at least 131 people dead amid a landscape of charred homes, bodies and devastated communities. Investigators said arsonists may have set some of Australia's worst wildfires in history. The death toll rose to 135 by this morning.

Investigators had strong suspicions that at least one of the deadly blazes, known as the Churchill fire after a ruined town, was deliberately set. This is what has happened in California and other places here in the US, and it's a horiffic thing for anyone to do. How can they live with themselves, knowing what their actions have caused?
