Captian Denys Wrong Doing......

 
The cruise ship Costa Concordia,  carrying more than 4,200 passengers and crew, ran aground and capsized off the Tuscan island of Giglio as dinner was being served. It is now precariously lying on its side on an undersea ledge, half-submerged and threatening to slide into deeper waters.

Diving crews resumed search operations on Saturday, but hopes of finding anyone alive have all but gone.  The ship's Captian is under house arrest, accused of multiple manslaughter, causing a shipwreck and abandoning ship before all passengers were evacuated.  Our condolences go out to the families and friends of the victim's.

Etta James Dies at 73

Etta James was a pioneer. Her ever-changing sound has influenced rock and roll, rhythm and blues, pop, soul and jazz artists, marking her place as one of the most important female artists of our time. Despite the reputation she cultivated, she would always be remembered best for "At Last." 

"My mother always wanted me to be a jazz singer, but I always wanted to be raunchy," she recalled in her book.

She was doing just that when bandleader Johnny Otis found her singing on San Francisco street corners with some girlfriends in the early 1950s. Otis, a legend in his own right, died on Tuesday. 

Her health went into decline, however, and by 2011, she was being cared for at home by a personal doctor.

She suffered from dementia, kidney problems and leukemia. Her physician announced that her leukemia was terminal, and asked for prayers for the singer.  Iit was announced that James was retiring from recording.  The 73-year-old died on Friday at Riverside Community Hospital from complications of leukemia, with her husband and sons at her side

Finding the perfect roommates

I finally found some great roommates. I have been looking for roommates for a couple months. I didn’t think it would be this difficult, but it was. I have a lot of friends and I am a very social person, but picking roommates has been very hard. I wanted roommates that were fun, but responsible and we all had to get along. After finally finding the perfect two, we then found the perfect apartment. They were in charge of the decorating and I was in charge of getting all the utilities set up. I thought it would be an easy task, but I was wrong. I didn’t realize how many different utilities there are. The first one was easy. I just went to directstartv.com and signed up. However, to get the water hooked up, I had to go down to the county office, which was a pain. Then to get the power hooked up, I had to send a copy of my driver’s license and sign up for auto draft. I never knew such simple things could be made into such difficult things.

Let us celebrate this life of beauty and love, Forget not that even though we suffer, others suffer more. Take time to gaze upward to a night of trembling stars. And even though life's journey is not always smooth, you are a part of something greater and more wonderful. 2011 NYE

  Well, she managed to get the top spot at the NYE in New York's celebration for the 2011 eve at Times Square.  I guess we will have to put up with "Lady Gaga" for awhile, until the new wears off.  Reminds me of "Madonna" and a few others........!
