Peaches
From last month when the blooms were just popping out, you see we now have peaches.
The weather spared the new fruit, when we had some frost one morning a couple of weeks ago. I'm very glad, because this tree puts out some really sweet peaches in June. The other peach tree I have, doesn't mature until August. So, I have two seasons on peaches to process each year.

Get Me A Rat
Buy Reviews
If you look in her mouth, you can see that she's carrying something.
It's a rat.......on the ground.........and the damn thing is still alive, playing possum.......but, it's not long before she picks him up and tosses him up in the air playing with him...........later he became a meal for her and the rest another cat took.
The last few days we've been telling the cat to get us a rat.......

Not Many Years Ago
If you think this looks bad, just think of what I'm thinking looking at my old fat face. I look at how the years have taken their toll on my face and body. Boy, what a good makeover would do for this face. I wish I could have afforded good anti aging skin protection to help my skin. Now, I am stuck with this mug and it's not a very pretty sight. No wonder I can't find a nice man who wants to spend the rest of his life with me.

The Turkey
In a few days, many of us will gather around the kitchen table for a fine feast of turkey & dressing with all the trimmings. It will be a time for families, to get together and give thanks for being together one more year. There are families, who won't be able to be together, because of one thing or another, but their hearts, minds and souls will be there with those they love and care about. To my friends and readers, who I offer my fellowship........have a great time and Happy Thanksgiving.....!

It's A Beautiful Day
Yes, and the "State Fair of Texas" is in full gear. This year greeted a new "Big Tex" because of the burn out he incurred last year. If you remember that fateful day, when across the new media, came pictures of the famous character, in full flames. It was a sad sight for all of us who have grown up seeing and hearing his voice each year at the "Fair". He came back with a new look, new duds and a skin tone which was a bit deeper than before. I considered it a tanned look, but others considered it to be favoring the Mexican origin. It has raised a few eyebrows as well as caused a few unfavorable comments.
The weather started the "Fair" off as usual with loud claps of thunder, high winds and heavy rains. This has been a custom down through the years, for it to rain out the fair goers. Today, is a nice day to travel in to Dallas and partake of the fun, food, games, events and don't forget the parades. There are many exhibits located around the park, so go and enjoy.

Once Again
The weather seems to have built in radar, when it comes to knowing the "Texas State Fair" is starting. Every year it starts it's monsoon season down at the fair grounds. We here in Texas don't mind the rain, because the lakes are so low. We are thankful every time it rains, because of the extreme heat we suffer each summer. The rain cools the heat and gives us needed water for the lakes. The drought has hit Texas very hard in recent years, so any rain we can get is relished.

Paula
My heart goes out to Paula Dean during this time of sadness. It really irks me that people can blow this type of thing out of proportion the way they do. The news media is having a "hay day" with this and it's not good they way they are throwing words around. It's not criminal to be human or to cut up and joke about things. We are all in a glass house as long as we are alive. Like she said, "pick up the stone and throw it".just make sure you don't hit the glass in your own window when you do.

Health Care Solution?
Here is the solution:
While discussing the upcoming Universal Health Care
Program with my sister-in-law the other day, I think we have found the
solution. I am sure you have heard the ideas that if you're a senior
you need to suck it up and give up the idea that you need any health
care. A new hip? Unheard of. We simply can't afford to take care of
you anymore. You don't need any medications for your high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, etc. Let's take care of the young people. After all, they will be ruling the world very soon.
So
here is the solution. When you turn 70, you get a gun and 3 bullets
You are allowed to shoot one senator and 2 representatives. Of
course, you will be sent to prison where you will get 3 meals a day, a
roof over your head and all the health care you need! New teeth,
great! Need glasses, no problem! New hip, knee, kidney, lung, heart?
Well bring it on. And who will be paying for all of this. The same
government that just told you that you are too old for health care.
And, since you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay any income tax.

Begins
The time to get your Christmas shopping done has begun. Black Friday has come and gone and now it's Cyber Monday. Amazon, has given me their sales offers, not to mention a few other websites which I've visited before. So, the holiday season has arrived with a successful "Thanksgiving" under our belts. Now, we look toward the holiday's left in this year to celebrate. All I can say is the expense and the food is killing me.

A Good Time
During the holiday's you will find family, friends, good food and traditions. The women get off into their busy "to do's" and the men go to the parlor to swap stories, have a drink or good smoke. You know it's best to buy from a good shop that offers blends. You can find partagas by clicking on the link in this post.

Coffee?
They say there's a link to vision loss in drinking coffee. Here is a medical research that has come many years too late for us "baby boomers". I've been drinking coffee most of my life, starting with childhood. This was the "wake me up" my grandmother used to get me going in the mornings. I always had a cup of hot coffee when getting up and getting ready for school. It helped get me motivated and pulled the cobwebs out of my brain.
As an adult it's been my companion most every morning to do the same thing. Waking up is not my specialty, since I am not a big morning person. I sit around for several hours in a daze, until finally something peaks my interest enough to get me going. Coffee, is the only thing that has helped in all these years. Now, they say it's linked to my eyes becoming blurred from cataracts or other problems. I can't win, because since you can't get out of this world alive, what are they trying to do? Take all the fun and enjoyment out of life? Boo to you scientists.

Corn
It didn't take long for this to be stripped of it's bounty and the leaves. The grasshoppers took their toll on my garden and ate most of everything. I looked at my rose bushes beside my house and most of the leaves are gone from them as well. It's been a rough summer for these pests and they have really done a number on the plants.

Minors?
I believe this is a subject that will need some research by parents when they actually decide to get debit cards for minors to do needed shopping. I for one wouldn't give them the privilege of using my debit card, because the the disaster's they can cause. I suppose that you could tell them that there was only so much on the card and keep them under strict control in that manner.
