Rats & Mice

I'm so tired of fighting these suckers.  You get rid of 3 or 4 and more take their place.  I've caught over 15 rats/mice, in the last 3 months, in traps and I am still fighting to get rid of them.......this is just too much effort to keep up with.  Yet, if I don't they will eventually, become family around here.  Actually, I think they already, think that they are at home.  Damn, it!

The last few days we've been telling the cat to get us a rat.......

If you look in her mouth, you can see that she's carrying something.

It's a rat.......on the ground.........and the damn thing is still alive, playing possum.......but, it's not long before she picks him up and tosses him up in the air playing with him...........later he became a meal for her and the rest another cat took.
Today, I found a partly eaten bird, lying on the ground..........now, I'm thinking she's been having a feast and then getting good food inside as well.........

She's a Pain

What this cat won't try isn't in the book.  It's trying to play with the bottle and you know what type it is.  I saw it dashing around outside after birds and ending up high in a tree.  All the yowling you could hear came off, when she decided that she was too high to come down.  Well, she finally made her way down the tree, only to jump on the window and start screaming to come inside.  When she got her way, she came in, smelled of her food and was ready to go back outside.  Darn Cat!

They are super funny on some of them and others are plain stupid..........

Punxsutawney Phil sees shadow

Groundhog Phil saw his shadow at 7:25 a.m. Sunday, in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pa.  Phil’s prediction will depress residents in the eastern U.S., weary from repeated outbreaks of arctic air.  If Phil had not seen his shadow, it would have meant spring is around the corner.  Phil’s shadow means winter will extend well into March  according to folklore.  That's just what I need, more high heating bills to pay.

Health

NC is just one of the many states who have been trying to get this health insurance changes mastered.  It seems that the governments of each state are looking to find ways around the Obamacare system.  I know that the North Carolina health insurance  will do everything in it's power and expertise, to get the job done right according the government rules and codes.  If you need help in understanding the new rules about health care, then click on the above link and so some research.

The Cat

/she has a favorite place when the weather is acting up outdoors.  In the house where it's warm and safe.  She doesn't like thunder and lightning.  Neither do I and I suppose I shouldn't think she would either.  Today, it's cold and rainy so she made her way into the house.

Greetings

You see dogs running to meet you or jumping up and down barking when you come home from work.  Well, I have a cat who greets me when I come in and is ready for me to rub her, saying hello then get out the food.  She's ready for a bite to eat.

Justice

The puppy that was set on fire by a group of men, has died from the extensive burns to his body.  This is the second dog in 3 years to have been set on fire by uncaring mean people.  In Texas this is considered a felony.  Police have been unable to locate anyone responsible for this crime.  If you have any information please contact Crime Stoppers at (214) 373-8477 or dial 911. The SPCA of Texas is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone providing information in the Pleasant Grove abuse case, that leads to an arrest and conviction.

This Cat

This cat now rules my house with all her antics and preferences.  She won't eat this and likes that.......but mostly she don't like much of the food I've been giving her.  It's very hard to find something she likes well enough to eat on a weekly basis.  I try to give her different entrees each day, but many times the nose is turned up and she comes back at me looking for something else.  This is money going down the drain, and the cat across the street is reaping the benefits.

My Kitty

This is my new kitty which was given to me recently.  She's 6 years old and very active.  Today I heard her behind me meowing.  When I looked down, she had a bird in her mouth for me to see.  I tried to make her take it back outside, but she ran to the kitchen and dropped.  The bird was thrown off, but as I came in to shoo her out the door the bird took off flying.  She charged after it, but it got away.  I hope she doesn't decide to do that if, she catches a mouse.

Dog DNA

The world of medicine, has made new turns at every corner in the last few years.  They have found ways to do DNA testing and free people who are incarcerated because of unjust sentences.  Possible dog dna testing  has come to the vocal point of discussion and is now a reality.  You can have the bloodline of your dog tested to see if in fact it heritage is proper.  I'm not informed on this service, so you will need to click on the above link and get the information they have listed.l

Needs Cleaning

I have an aquarium that has a few tropical fish in it.  Ever so often the filter system builds up sludge and I have to take it apart and clean out the mess.  I hear it making a noise at me, which is telling me the small turbine inside it is laboring to work properly.  This means it's time to do the cleaning job, which takes a few minutes of washing the filters, removing the turbine and cleaning out the area it's located in so it can turn without restriction.  I'm going to make an effort to get this done today, without procrastination.

Feed Your Cat Good......

I've had several cats in my lifetime, and they all were very finicky when it came to eating.  One of my cats was a beautiful white long hair, with an orange and green eye.  She was beautiful and had a very sweet nature.  There were certain foods that she wasn't able to hold down, no matter how she tried.  Some cat foods just didn't sit well on her tummy.  I found that she could eat certain brands, and ever so often when I could afford a better brand I would by it for her as a treat.
About a year or so ago, I was given a kitten that was a gray stripped tabby.  This cat was crazy and would drive you up the walls with his antics.  He also had a certain food that he couldn't eat.  I had to by a different brand of cat food  to give him.  His stomach seemed to tolerate it much better and I felt like he thrived well, considering he grew very large.  I often wondered what male cat species his mother mated with, to make him so big?
Somehow, my cat finally came up missing, when mating season came around.  I never found him after that and wonder if someone else decided he was a good cat to keep, since he had already been house broken?  I haven't replaced him, because I now live in an apartment and don't wish to pay the huge deposit for a pet.

Camp Wolfgang, a German Shepherd rescue facility in Ennis (an hour north of Waco) is closing its doors. The reason doesn’t matter… what matters is finding homes, foster or permanent, for these rescued dogs that should not be having to face this fate.

Please be sure to forward to family and friends who may have law enforcement, military or animal handling experience as they may have a special place in their hearts for German Shepherds and the following breeds:

Camp Wolfgang in Ennis, Texas, is closing its doors on October 31st.

All the dogs are vetted, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, well cared-for and many have had training.

There are approximately 200 dogs that must find homes, foster or permanent, before October 31, or they will have no choice but to euthanize them. Please forward this information to everyone you know...if we all forward this to everyone we know, chances are good that many of these dogs can be saved! They do not need or want donations, they simply MUST place all of the dogs.

Adoption fees are $75.00, but no charge to verifiable rescue groups.

Who Controls Who.........

If you've ever wondered who's in control, you or your cat, a new study points to the obvious. It's your cat.

Household cats exercise this control with a certain type of urgent-sounding, high-pitched meow, according to the findings.

This meow is actually a purr mixed with a high-pitched cry. While people usually think of cat purring as a sign of happiness, some cats make this purr-cry sound when they want to be fed. The study showed that humans find these mixed calls annoying and difficult to ignore.

This is my pain in the backside, and he definitely knows how to push his weight around, where I'm concerned. I really do alot of chasing and scolding to this little imp. He trys his very best and gets right up under my skin.
