A Front Coming Tonight

They say we're getting rain tonight and that will be good, because we haven't had any in a few weeks.  Just don't like the idea, that the weather will turn cold, in the process.  A front is coming through here in North Texas, and here goes the temps down again.  
Right now, it's 76* with high winds and clouds.  So, I guess the front had to have the winds blow it our way......... :(

And so we turn to football, and the holiday season.  It's that time of the year again, when the"COWBOYS" play on Christmas day.  ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?  Hell, yeah!  Anyway, you get the idea, and on with the show!

Come Rain

Everyone finds a way to talk about the weather, especially when they don't have anything else to talk about.  It's a good intro to a conversation and gets the ground broke for more subjects.  Our weather is humid and makes for discomfort.  I really needed the rain on my garden that they predicted, and it was not as much as I hoped for.  Needless, to say, when you want rain......it won't come.....when you don't want it, it's right there.

21-26 Loss

A chilling cold greeted the Dallas Cowboy's as they attempted to win a play-off game against the Green Bay Packer's.  They played hard and still in the end came out with sad face's when the game had ended.  It's over for them this season, but we hope the come back next year with the same spirit and drive they had this season.  Keep up the good work!

Tri-Fuel Conversion Kits

I noticed where the snow had covered up many areas in New York.  I'm sure it must be horrible to be in such a disaster and be unable to move around as usual.  It's possible that these poor people will be stuck several days or even weeks with the weather problem.
Staying warm is a major concern, when dealing with a blizzard of this nature.  The new reports told of how a few unfortunate people have lost their lives during this winter storm.  Being buried alive in your cars is a bad thing.  I saw where the snow was as tall as a 6ft. man and that's a huge storm.  They were expecting more snow in the next two or three days after this one hit.
Homes, need to have access to heating facilities which can be converted during certain outages like this.  As you know, the EPA is strict on emissions and the need to control the output of certain gas emissions.  During your time of being snowed in, you need to have  tri-fuel portable generators   that can be adapted to the type of fuel you have access to.  They say that you can even use a BBQ propane tank to fuel these kits.  That's very convenient I would say, and something you could grab in a hurry.

The Times You Dread

Have you ever felt that impending loss or failure that was just around the corner?  You could feel something bad was going to happen and it left you very unsettled.  In fact, the unknown was downright scary!
If you are alive in today's world then it gets even more scary.  It could be the weather reeking havoc; the nation attempting to dislodge our values; your health starting to slide downhill; sudden outbreak of a virus; or loosing one's job.  Each time these disasters hit you can believe that we just aren't ready.
Loosing a loved one, or finding that your life is on the rocks, is just overpowering to the human thinking.  Yet, daily we all have our crosses to bear and do so, whether it be good or bad actions.  This is a time to claim the all mighty power of our loving God.  Reaching for his strong hand during these times, can and will give us comfort and even peace. 
I'm sure you have been to the point of no return many times, as I have.  These are the hardest times to suffer through and yet with God's help, we find ourselves on the other side of the problem, looking back and hoping to never go through that again.  Having faith is one of the strongest means of surviving that I can think of.  Having your belief in God, or a supreme being is the best way to find the strength it's going to take.  You know that no matter what, you will come through the situation and be able to go forward.

She's a Pain

What this cat won't try isn't in the book.  It's trying to play with the bottle and you know what type it is.  I saw it dashing around outside after birds and ending up high in a tree.  All the yowling you could hear came off, when she decided that she was too high to come down.  Well, she finally made her way down the tree, only to jump on the window and start screaming to come inside.  When she got her way, she came in, smelled of her food and was ready to go back outside.  Darn Cat!

I was wondering how you get there from here?  Williamsburg, VA is a place I've never been and I was wondering how I would go about finding it on these maps on the internet, when I don't have an address where I'm going?  It seems that there are many places, but this place is consider a part of our American history.  So, I would consider that there is a way to locate it on these maps other than an address.  What do you think?

Weather

It's been a back and forth thing with the weather, these days and it's frustrating to handle when one day, you wear shirt sleeves and the next a parka.  It's been one of those winter's which you don't know which or what is going to happen until it happens.  No wonder so many people are getting sick from colds and flu.  The east is getting another onslaught of bad weather, and it's not funny.  I wouldn't want to live up there, but there are some who find work there and end up staying, for the stability of a job.  Can't say I blame them, but how do you get to work on all that snow and ice?

Run Away Game?

How many of you thought that yesterday's "Super Bowl game" was a run away game?  I couldn't help but think, hell why insult the poor team anymore than you already have?  It was obvious from the start that the "Seahawks" were getting busy.  The "Bronco's" never really gained any ground and lost in a horrible fashion to the "Hawks".  I'd say that 43 to 8 was a run away game, wouldn't you?

Punxsutawney Phil sees shadow

Groundhog Phil saw his shadow at 7:25 a.m. Sunday, in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pa.  Phil’s prediction will depress residents in the eastern U.S., weary from repeated outbreaks of arctic air.  If Phil had not seen his shadow, it would have meant spring is around the corner.  Phil’s shadow means winter will extend well into March  according to folklore.  That's just what I need, more high heating bills to pay.


 

Ice Disc

Now this is some cold, when you think of how much low temps it took to cause this to happen.  I wouldn't want to live up in this area of the country, but then as of today, Texas is in the 30's and that's very cold to us.

Cold

The sun may be out and all but it's very cold here in the North Texas areas.  It's been in the 30's all day and I don't relish my heating bill this month.  Last months was bad enough.  When your heating bill is more than your electric bill, then you know it's been a cold month.  Texas has been lucky in recent years, with temps that were tolerable.  This winter has been a bit colder and I'm feeling it with every wind that slaps my cheeks.  I sure hope we miss all the ice that's been moving around the nation.  We had one onslaught recently and that was enough to level many trees here.  I don't like hearing large limbs crashing down on my roof.  It's very scary, to think one could come through and cause structural damage to my home.  I can't afford that subject at all.  I've got my fingers crossed for some better weather very soon.
