Just as you would expect, the people who have recently suffered loss from the storm are already adjusting and trying to move forward. The clean up will be a long hard time for everyone in those areas. America, has a large job to help the populations in each state which has no power or resources to get started. The debris will be phenomenal and where to begin will mostly depend on each entity. At present the removal of the water and drying out is up front.

Sandy
The last few days have been horrible to watch with the nation's eyes upon the east coast. Hurricane Sandy connected with a cold front coming down from the north and made a disaster happen. It's considered the "perfect storm" if you can call a storm that. Perfection is not what I would call this and it's considered to be one that will be in the record books.
People have lost their homes and properties to this thing and it's going to be a long haul to get things livable again. New York is once again feeling the onslaught of a humongous disaster. Ground Zero held tremendous amounts of water as the ocean surged. Wide spread flooding could be seen across many states as this storm passed over. Our hearts go out to the many people who are without provisions as well as power. The coming days will take it's toll on their lives and cause much needed strength to survive.

Rescue
As you see in this video the Coast Guard are rescuing some people from a floating raft during hurricane "Sandy".
Sandy Hits Coast
All eyes are on the east coast as hurricane "Sandy" comes ashore. I am trying to keep in contact with my oldest son and his family who are in the middle of this. They opted to stay in their home and ride it out. I'm sure they wish that they had gone further inland by now. The winds are supposed to be gusting to 70 mph during it's onslaught. The rains will be so heavy that flooding is already happening. This leaves large trees a danger to being blown over and fall on anything in it's path. It is predicted that this is a slow moving storm which will unleash large lashing torrents of waves along the beach areas. New York is all but shut down because of heavy flooding. Air ports are no long having flights and the other one's around the world are diverting flights to other areas, for safety.
Prayers are being said for the one's who opted to stay and ride this thing out. As we speak, we are keeping a close eye on the news and hoping contact doesn't go out with the cell phones.

Heavy Coat
I bought a Carhartt coat for one of my sons last year. He lives in Wyoming and it gets really cold there during the winter. Carhartt Jackets & Coats are known for their comfort, fit, and durable fabrics. Premier fabrics, along with heavy-duty zippers and triple-stitched seams, make Carhartt the premier outerwear choice. You can see the wide selection of items when you visit the Carhartt jackets from dungarees.net link found in this post.

Old Tree
I have this huge old tree that is in the very front of my house. I notice that the yard crew who take care of the yard across the street always have to stop in front of my house to unload their equipment. I don't like them stopping in front of my yard, but it's a public street. Therefore I have to listen to all their loud noises, when they crank up their lawnmowers, and leaf blowers.
Today, I noticed one of the workers looking at my old tree and making comments about it. Then he saluted it, as if to say, wow you've been around a long time.

Thanks...
It's gone. Likely for good (which is bad). I will definitely miss it and
continue seeking something that allowed me to easily surf REAL blogs
and not all those stupid get-rich-quick scam sites like most traffic
exchanges. on ENTRECARD?????
This is a comment that I received from a reader about a question posted here on this blog recently.

Coffee?
They say there's a link to vision loss in drinking coffee. Here is a medical research that has come many years too late for us "baby boomers". I've been drinking coffee most of my life, starting with childhood. This was the "wake me up" my grandmother used to get me going in the mornings. I always had a cup of hot coffee when getting up and getting ready for school. It helped get me motivated and pulled the cobwebs out of my brain.
As an adult it's been my companion most every morning to do the same thing. Waking up is not my specialty, since I am not a big morning person. I sit around for several hours in a daze, until finally something peaks my interest enough to get me going. Coffee, is the only thing that has helped in all these years. Now, they say it's linked to my eyes becoming blurred from cataracts or other problems. I can't win, because since you can't get out of this world alive, what are they trying to do? Take all the fun and enjoyment out of life? Boo to you scientists.

Cold
It finally made it to Texas. Yes, the cold front that was up in the central part of the states, finally made it down here. It's cold and now I find that digging out the sweaters, jeans and socks very important. Oh, don't forget the blankets either. Yes, the dog days of summer have gone and now we must get ready for the winter months and all they bring. The new caster said that the temperatures we are experiencing would actually be relevant to those we have in January. This morning I got up to lower 50's and believe me I found my warm house coat and shoes real quick.

Scrubs
You find most health care personnel wearing coordinated apparel when working. The nurse's who work on certain floors of a hospital, will have a color to designate their location positions. It's only natural to see the baby phat scrub tops in a children's hospital unit. I noticed that these scrub tops are made for comfort, flexibility and convenience. To get information about these scrub tops, click on the link in this post.
