Chrysler's bankruptcy sent shivers through Detroit Friday despite President Barack Obama's confidence that a quick restructuring would give the number three US automaker "a new lease on life" in partnership with Italy's Fiat. The nation's third-largest automaker filed for bankruptcy protection Thursday with an ambitious plan to emerge in as little as 30 days as a leaner company. I'm sure that this is just the beginning of financial woes, the way the economy has floundered. It's a scary situation, to see one of the top automakers, go under.
