Then There Was One...........

I made two Pecan Pies for Thanksgiving but only one survived. When taking the last pie out of the oven, I caught the edge of the pie on the edge of the table and it flipped, right into the floor. It was a big mess and of course I was the one to clean it up. I was so mad and my spouse didn't make it any easier..............he laughed.........then I was really mad and hurt............so, as you can see...........this is what is left of the only pie I had.....when I shared the story with my famly at the dinner, they all laughed as well............I think I'll soothe my feelings and eat the rest.........don't you think I should?

Last Gunmen Killed in Mumbai

The Taj Mahal hotel is seen engulfed in smoke during a gun battle.
A 60-hour terror rampage that killed at least 195 people across India's financial capital ended Saturday when commandos killed the last three gunmen inside a luxury hotel while it was engulfed in flames. Authorities searched for any remaining captives hiding in their rooms and began to shift their focus to who was behind the attacks, which killed 18 foreigners including six Americans. Indian officials said the sole surviving gunman was from Pakistan and pointed a finger of blame at their neighbor and rival. We have seen another attempt to destroy and take over .........this is the major tasks of terrorists..........Once again American's have been killed, along with the Indians. Our hearts are saddened, and we pray for all those who lost loved one's during this time.

American Music Awards

Well, did you watch it............I did, but got tired of all the "girlie" stuff. It was always the girls doing what they do best..........show skin. But to me the whole show was boring, and what do you expect from a bunch of entertainers? I say, to be entertained...........but surely I jest. This year was all about fashion..............should I say............a certain designer's fashion line.............so, who's interested in some gay looking person, with all the crap they dish out..............you can tell when someone is "sweet". This one was more than sweet..............down right stupid, is what I call this fashion designer...............trying to design the whole show..............and almost ruined it............actually, he did ruin it..........what kind of expert is he...........to tell us what to like in clothes? He's just one of the many fashion designer's, who have altered the fashion industry....... and many of them are just as bad as he is..........! I guess it's too bad that Amy Winehouse couldn't be there................the show would have really been bazarre!

Turkey Pictures, Images and Photos Hey.........all..........it's this...........are you ready for the turkey? I'm going to cook, so I have bought up the fixings and now I'm gearing up for all the cooking. Pecan pies, will get made the day/night before and I will probably cook the ham the same time.........now, that will be a big deal, since I only have on oven and it's only large enough for a few things at a time......... Guess I'll have to do it in shifts.......... It's going to be hectic, either way.........I sure hope the weather holds, so it won't be too cold outside. I don't like cold weather, it makes everyone sick and my spouse is experiencing this as we speak. I sure hope everyone comes with a big appetite, cause my fridge is full of things and it will be hard to find any space to store leftovers............I'll try to send as much home with people as I can.........that will help to keep the fridge from being so full...... Hey, all you nice people who visit my site.............please have a great and safe holiday and come back the following week, to read more on this blog............

Days Till Christmas

I looked over at my "Counter Till Christmas", on my side bar and it looks like time is running out on me................the days are not long enough to get the money that I need to get presents, food and such bought for the holidays. Not to mention needing to get my Thanksgiving food, this week or next. Man, it's just one expense after another, and the way things are going these days, I'm in better shape than many people. At least I have a home, that's almost paid for, and a car that's paid for and can make it each month on what I bring in, plus my pension check. Some people aren't so lucky. Yet, I wonder how it will be next year, with all the crap that's being thrown our way, from the government? Right, now the holiday's are what's on my feeble mind, and I don't see much money available for them. Get Myspace Christmas Countdown

Snake Venom

Well, I've seen it all now, using snake venom to halt the aging process. What else are these commercial health companies going to come up with......? It was on the news last evening and is in cream form. The effects are supposed to freeze the aging process. Kind of like the area that is bitten by a snake goes numb. They say it's as good or better than Botox........so, here we go again..........Just another product that's high priced and only for the people who can afford it.............Not me!

Obama Lays A Wreath........

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama and paraplegic Iraq war veteran ...
Veterans Day ceremonies were attended by Obama, who laid a wreath at the tomb of the Veterans Memorial.

Veterans Day Observances.........

Image:RemembrancePoppies.jpg(cc-by-sa-2.0)

Wreaths of poppies are the symbol of the end of World War I, for some of the countries involved in the conflict. A day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as "Armistice Day".

Many Americans mistakenly believe that Veterans Day is the day America sets aside to honor American military personnel who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained from combat. That's not quite true. Memorial Day is the day set aside to honor America's war dead.

Only the dead were left to be remembered, and the backdrop of the service was a huge stone ossuary, containing the remains of hundreds of thousands of men from both sides who died in the fighting. But its hillside has come to symbolise World War I's awful savagery, says our correspondent. During the fighting, more than 60m shells fell on the land, transforming it into a pitted piece of hell on earth.

President Eisenhower signs HR7786, officially changing Armistice Day to Veterans Day, May 26, 1954.

In the United States, an annual Veterans Day ceremony will be held at Arlington cemetery near Washington at 1100am, to honour those who have died in service to the US.

World War I was the world's first industrialised war.

It toppled four European empires, led to the creation of the Soviet Union and marked the end of Europe's long global hegemony.

Baby It's Cold Outside.........

Well, maybe not as cold as some places, but to me it's cold. Here in Texas if the weather turns cold, people shiver at the slightest breeze that passes. I guess it's because we are spoiled to the nice warm weather we experience longer than most places. Either way, when it starts getting cold or cool here, I don't like it. This means being stuck in the house most of the time and having to start wearing the heavier clothing. Not to mention the ice and snow..........thank God we don't get much of that stuff.........but other areas do and that's a hard thing to suffer through. Today, it's raining, something we've needed plenty of since we are still in a drought of sort. It would have been nice, to have gotten this rain, during the summer months, when it was so hot and dry. I'm sure it won't be long until the doctors will be getting many people in their offices, from all the colds and flu, this weather will help cause. I can only hope that this winter won't be too bad, because it's very hard to get places you need to be and dress properly. They say that if you don't like Texas weather, just wait a few minutes and it will change........

Your Ideas.......

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside. 'That laundry is not very clean', she said. 'She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap' Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments. About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: 'Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this?' The husband said, 'I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.' And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

Not So Sure...

US president-elect Barack Obama waves at his supporters during ...
U.S.-watchers were quick to point out that Obama would have to confront enormous problems once in office. Muneer Jamal, a Baghdad resident. "I think all the promises Obama made during the campaign will remain mere promises." It is true that Bush gave America a very bad name, but I don't think the change of face will suddenly make any big difference. Some Iraqis, who have suffered through five years of a war ignited by the United States and its allies, said they would believe positive change when they saw it. Barack Obama's election as America's first black president unleashed a global tide of admiration, hopes for change. I'm still not persuaded that this is going to turn out as well as people think.
